Move proposal to Wolf (Thracia 776 character)

I think move is unnecessary because there are no other things in Thracia to distinguish against. PikaSamus (talk) 14:56, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

The purpose of the new title would be to distinguish it from other characters and the class using both standards; i.e. using "character" against "class" and and "Thracia 776" against "Shadow Dragon". If this article were only to be disambiguated from wolf (class), then "Wolf (character)" would be a more proper parenthetical—as it is being disambiguated against multiple articles, I feel both should be used, as in Fire Emblem (Shadow Dragon chapter) and Fire Emblem (The Binding Blade chapter). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Thecornerman (talkcontribs). I don't know if that is quite an apt comparison, because, for those, there are other things called "Fire Emblem" in those games. PikaSamus (talk) 19:29, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
That was part of the reason I suggested the moves for those pages; I don't know if that was part of the reason they were accepted. — Thecornerman (talk) 21:03, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

Suggest keeping it where it is (and deleting the redirect caused by someone jumping the gun on top of it). Going with "Thracia 776 character" would suggest we need to disambiguate both between other Wolf characters (at this point one other character ever since a Valentian character gained an extra F, hence we can't use just "character" either here or with the Archanean Wolf) and something else called "Wolf" within Thracia 776 itself (nothing of the sort); the ludicrous suggestion in the proposal would imply that the laguz wolf class of Tellius appears in Thracia 776, which it doesn't. Just "Thracia 776" is fine in this instance.

(The main reason why those two mainline chapters called "Fire Emblem" use two-part disambiguating phrases is because they both need to be distinguished from each other--just "chapter" wouldn't work in those instances--and from that game's respective iteration of the series's titular object--just the game's title wouldn't work in those instances. I left the Tokyo Mirage Sessions chapter out of the previous comparison because you could argue "chapter" isn't necessary in its own disambiguating phrase, as as far as we know Mirage Tokyo lacks a plot-relevant Fire Emblem object and the song that one might want to drag into the argument would be better titled by its full title of "Fire Emblem: Opera of Light".) --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 00:06, 22 August 2022 (UTC)

Firstly, I don't know what deleting the redirect would accomplish. Secondly, I think there is more confusion created between "Wolf (Thracia 776)" and "Wolf (class)"—which do not actually disambiguate against each other in the same way "Wolf (Thracia 776 character)" would—than there is from the possible implication that there is more than one "wolf" subject in Thracia 776; additionally, it is more in-keeping with the standards of parenthetical disambiguation—i.e. in this case, using games to disambiguate characters, and using concepts to disambiguate character and class—than just game title for one and "class" for the other. Thirdly, as the person who proposed the moves for the Fire Emblem chapters, I can tell you that part of the reason I proposed them was to disambiguate in this fashion: chapter from item, and game from game; that might not be why it was agreed to, but that was the basis on which it was proposed. — Thecornerman (talk) 15:38, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
