Similarities to Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist

Both are some sort of fabricated human-like being, both have long, straight black hair and wear rather revealing black dresses, both have used sexuality in order to achieve their goals in the plot, both claim to be superior to others and have very little compassion for most of their allies, and both serve their creators, who are also the main villains of their respective stories, with utmost loyalty.

Add those to the fact that Fullmetal Alchemist was first published two years before FE 7 and was all the rage at the time of the game's release. Is that enough for a Trivia pointer? --Unnamedgoon (talk) 02:41, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Guess I'll take that as a "yes". --Unnamedgoon (talk) 20:39, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

I think there's some connections, but I really doubt it being intentional. While Fullmetal Alchemist was certainly A Thing during that time, a lustful sultry woman is not a new trope, even by 2003 standards. Very likely just a coincidence, unless you can find somewhere that the character designer for FE7 was really into Lust in FMA. Alex95 (talk) 20:58, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

It's not just the femme fatale archetype and design. Them being fabricated humans loyal to their creators is the one thing that pushes this beyond a simple coincidence to me. But fine, I guess this kind of speculative trivia doesn't really fit the wiki. --Unnamedgoon (talk) 21:10, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

I'm not disagreeing that they are similar. It's just that "X character in this series is similar to Y character in a different series" is a very easy connection to make that more often than not ends up being coincidental. If it was between two Nintendo characters, then maybe, as Nintendo makes references to themselves all the time. But this is something that sounds like it should have a source to back it up if it is intentional. Alex95 (talk) 21:31, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
