Swordbreaker (Japanese: 剣殺し Sword Slayer) is a skill which debuted in Fire Emblem Awakening. It gives its user enormous advantages when fighting an enemy who is wielding a sword or katana. In Awakening and Fates, where it a class skill learned by Wyvern Lords, it provides enormous boosts to its user's hit rate and avoid when fighting these weapons.

In Heroes, it is a type B passive skill split into three levels, in order from lowest to highest: Swordbreaker 1, Swordbreaker 2, and Swordbreaker 3. Units with a Swordbreaker skill will, when fighting the user of a sword skill while this skill's user's own HP is at a certain threshold or higher, automatically make a double-attack and prevent the sword skill's user from doing so themselves. The minimum amount of current HP required to activate the skill decreases with each level.

Swordbreaker

A swordbreaker is a type of defensive dagger used by swordfighters from the late Middle Ages onward, generally wielded in a fighter's off-hand while their dominant hand wields a sword. One edge of its blade forms a set of deep, comb-like teeth designed to catch and trap an opponent's sword when parrying. In Awakening, the Superior Edge - which grants the Swordbreaker skill - has a set of teeth identical to those of a historical swordbreaker.
