Sunrise Katana
| ||||
|
The Sunrise Katana (Japanese: 白夜の霞刀 Byakuya Mist Katana) is a katana that debuted in Fire Emblem Fates. It is a low-level sword that appears to be even worse than the Brass Katana at a higher rank, that really only shines with its high avoid boost.
The Japanese version names this weapon for the realm of Hoshido. International versions partially downplay this connection, leaving an allusion to its origins.

Trivia
- When units in certain unmounted classes, such as Swordmaster and Master of Arms, wield the Sunrise Katana in combat, they are shown to have two swords. This brings with it unique attack animations when offensive skills activate and when an attack achieves a critical hit.
- The Sunrise Katana shares this trait with the Axe Splitter.

May have been after "the land of the rising sun", a nickname commonly given to Japan, the real-world nation on which Hoshido is heavily based. This nickname is taken from the native Japanese word for Japan, 日本 Nihon/Nippon, which literally translates as "sun origin". |
