Stone

From Fire Emblem Wiki, your source on Fire Emblem information. By fans, for fans.
Revision as of 10:17, 10 May 2015 by Blue Sun Lord (talk | contribs) (The Japanese text next to the stone (from this screenshot http://i.imgur.com/mUJyveL.jpg) matches the Japenese name of the Dragonstone from Fire Emblem: Awakening. The English dub may change it in the future but it's confirmed that the Dragonstone is in.)

Stones ( stone) are a weapon classification encompassing the dragonstone and beaststone items used by manaketes and taguel to transform and fight. Although the existence of dragonstones dates back to Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, the first title, and has persisted throughout the entire series, stones have only existed as a weapon classification since Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon; before then, all dragonstones were technically classified by the games as basic items despite their combat usage.

All stone weapons grant their user substantial stat bonuses when equipped, reflecting their transformed state. Equipped tones are activated to transform the user every time the user attacks or is attacked, regardless of whether they are within range to counter-attack in the case of being attacked. Manaketes and taguel without equipped stones will, needless to say, not transform when attacked and have no offense of their own.

Stones in the Fire Emblem series by type

Ten different stone weapons have existed across the Fire Emblem series; eight of these are dragonstones, while the remaining two are beaststones. This list does not count the breath weapons wielded by already-transformed dragons in Mystery of the Emblem, The Binding Blade, The Sacred Stones and New Mystery of the Emblem as stone weapons; in the latter, "Breath" is its own separate weapon type.

Classes capable of using stones

Technically speaking, stones as a formal weapon classification have only existed from Shadow Dragon onward, although usage of stones originated in the series' beginning. As such, this list actively interprets any class which has had access to the non-categorized dragonstones as being able to wield stones.
