While it is never confirmed, story and NPC dialogue implies "those who slither in the dark" murdered the original Tomas sometime before the events of the story just so Solon could infiltrate [[Garreg Mach Monastery]] under the librarian's identity.

Appearance(s)

Solon (Japanese: ソロン Solon) is a character appearing in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. He is a member of "those who slither in the dark".

Biography

Solon is a member of "those who slither in the dark". He makes his first proper appearance in Chapter 8, discarding his appearance as Tomas in a burning Remire Village, revealing he had disguised himself just so he could obtain Flayn's blood in order to further his group's agenda. Once defeated, Solon declares he had achieved the purpose of his experiments before teleporting away. He appears once again in Chapter 10, intercepting his fellow cult member Kronya who asks for his help with killing Byleth. Solon agrees, proceeding to ritually sacrifice Kronya against her will by ripping her heart out from her chest, performing the Forbidden Spell of Zaharas which trap Byleth in a realm of never ending darkness. While gloating over his victory, Byleth manages to break free after fusing with Sothis. Realizing what had just happened, Solon panics and to tries to slay Byleth one last time before ultimately meeting his demise, wishing Thales will be able to finish the group's work as he draws his last breath.

While it is never confirmed, story and NPC dialogue implies "those who slither in the dark" murdered the original Tomas sometime before the events of the story just so Solon could infiltrate Garreg Mach Monastery under the librarian's identity.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Personality and character

Solon is a sinister old mage with a perchant for schemes and tricks, lacking in empathy and thus having no qualms with sacrificing villagers and even his own co-workers for the sake of experiments. Like all on-screen Agarthans, he considers himself to be a member of Fódlan's master race and the surface-dwelling humans to be nothing but "beasts", all while proclaiming himself as their "savior". He is also loyal to Thales, and has faith he will be able to continue his group's mission without him. In contrast to his boss, Kronya and Cornelia however, Solon is also a fairly good impersonator, as he manages to mimic Tomas' mannerisms and personality perfectly, staying beneath suspicion for a long time in Garreg Mach up until he deliberately choses to reveal himself.
