'''Shiro''': Hmmm... Where did Shigure run off to? I can't imagine why he'd be in these hills or fields... But then again, I couldn't find him around camp either.
'''Shigure''': *singing*
'''Shiro''': Wait a second... There he is! I wonder what he's doing sitting on that tree stump. And who are all those peop— What?! They aren't people! Those are... forest animals?! Squirrels, rabbits...even bears! Sitting quietly, like he's training them.
'''Shigure''': I think that's enough for one day. How did you enjoy it?
'''Shiro''': Wait... Is he trying to talk with them?
'''Shigure''': Ah! Who's there?! Oh no! Come back!
'''Shiro''': Whoa! Jeez, it's like they're running for their lives... Sorry for scaring them off.
'''Shigure''': You just startled them, Shiro. And you startled me too! But don't worry about it. They can't help being a little shy. So tell me, what are you doing all the way out here?
'''Shiro''': I was just looking around for you. Since we didn't grow up together, I've been thinking... We may be brothers, but I don't know the first thing about you. So it would be great to actually spend some time together.
'''Shigure''': Oh, I see. I don't know what to say. I'm really not the most interesting person around... You might have more fun talking with someone more outgoing.
'''Shiro''': What are you talking about? I want to hang out with you! We're brothers!
'''Shigure''': Please, don't feel obligated to try and be my friend, just because of that. Honestly, I'm not in the most social mood right now. Please, excuse me...
'''Shiro''': H-hey! Stop, Shigure! That wasn't very nice...

'''Shiro''': *sigh* Where has Shigure gone today? Hmm... Maybe he's back at that clearing in the hills... Yeah, he's probably sitting around with all those animal friends of his. Yep, looks like I was right. Shigure! What's up?!
'''Shigure''': Shiro?! What are you doing out here? Ah! Oh no! Wait!
'''Shiro''': Wah! I freaked them out again... Jeez, sorry about that.
'''Shigure''': Don't worry about it. They aren't used to other people being around here. It's easy to startle them.
'''Shiro''': Hmm, I understand... It sure is impressive how you've tamed all these wild animals. Even though we have the same parents, we sure are different. I can only scare them away!
'''Shigure''': Why were you looking for me again? Did you need something?
'''Shiro''': Well, like I was telling you the other day, I'd really like to know you better. Since we're siblings and all.
'''Shigure''': Hmm, I see... Listen, I'm sorry for being cold the other day. The truth is, it makes me happy that you care so much. I'm your brother, and I really don't want to let you down.
'''Shiro''': You mean it? I can stay here with you? Why don't you call back all the animals?
'''Shigure''': Honestly, I don't think they'll want to come back while you're here.
'''Shiro''': R-really? Why not? They seem so fond of you, though. If I work super hard, do you think they will be my friends too? Please, tell me how you did it.
'''Shigure''': Hmm... I'm not sure if this will help, but... Animals are highly attuned to the feelings of people around them. Most likely, they detected something in you that drove them off.
'''Shiro''': Oh come on, I wouldn't have any animosity toward a bunch of fluffy animals.
'''Shigure''': They can sense what you were thinking. Were you sizing them up to figure out which one might make a tasty dinner? Even just for a moment?
'''Shiro''': Shigure, stop trying to make fun of me. I would never think that.
'''Shigure''': Of course, I'm sorry. That's just the biggest reason I could think of for them to run away. I appreciate how sincere you are about befriending them. I'll try to think of what can be done to make them feel safe around you. I would be delighted to help out my cherished brother.
'''Shiro''': I'm counting on you!

'''Shiro''': Hey, Shigure...
'''Shigure''': What's wrong, Shiro? You look troubled.
'''Shiro''': I've been wanting to talk about the animals with you...
'''Shigure''': Oh? Did you want to pay them a visit? I was just about to head in that direction if you want to come along. Are you ready to prove that you don't mean them any harm?
'''Shiro''': No, actually I've been thinking about why they ran away from me in the first place. I realized that I was feeling upset when I first met them.
'''Shigure''': What do you mean?
'''Shiro''': This is embarrassing to admit... But I envied the animals because they got along so well with you. In that moment, I wanted them to leave so we could spend time together. That's probably what they detected. I was acting mean and selfish... I feel like a terrible person...
'''Shigure''': Shiro, I'm glad you thought about this and talked to me.
'''Shiro''': The point is, I'm not going out there anymore. I don't want to bug them. I'm sorry that I made such a fuss about everything.
'''Shigure''': Don't say that! You should absolutely go back. By opening up, you've changed, and the animals will be able to tell. I think they'll be more welcoming.
'''Shiro''': Huh? I'm not sure...
'''Shigure''': Well I am. You didn't have to say that you were feeling jealous, but you did anyway. That tells me that you've got a good soul inside of you. They'll be able to see that, too. Look! There's a rabbit coming this way!
'''Shiro''': Wh-whoa!! Wait, what do I do?
'''Shigure''': Just calm down... Relax, and take a breath. Quiet your mind and be peaceful... Just think about how you want to be friends with the furry critter.
'''Shiro''': Y-yeah, sure, OK. He's letting me pet him! Wow! Aren't you a good boy. Aww, look at his cute little eyes!
'''Shigure''': See? I told you it would all be fine.
'''Shiro''': Yeah. You were totally right!
'''Shigure''': Now you can meet all of the other animals! I think you will get along with everyone. Let's wander to the clearing in the woods— I bet your new friends will be waiting there.
'''Shiro''': Sure! Lead the way, Shigure!

Shiro: Hey, Corrin, what's your opinion on kings and queens?
Corrin: Kings and queens...? Umm...what are we talking about here? Are you asking what I think of King Garon, and King Sumeragi and Queen Mikoto?
Shiro: Them too. But also about, I dunno... future kings.
Corrin: Future kings, eh? Well, no one knows how the war will end. But it's reasonable to think that Ryoma will be crowned King of Hoshido.
Shiro: Probably, yeah.
Corrin: Which would make you next in the line for the throne after him.
Shiro: Because I'm his son, right?
Corrin: Well, yes. That's how succession works.
Shiro: ... Seems kinda old fashioned to me.
Corrin: Shiro...?
Shiro: Why should I be king just because I'm the old king's son?
Corrin: Do you not want the crown?
Shiro: It's not about what I want. I went most of my life not knowing I was a prince. And now that I do, I'm not sure I have what it takes. A king needs certain qualities. He's gotta be a good leader. And I'm not that.
Corrin: Is that really what you think of yourself? I'd say you're quite capable of leadership.
Shiro: Sure, during training, or when I'm putting together a fishing trip. But that's just a few people. Anyone can say "Let's go fishing!" or "Time to train!" Getting an entire country to follow me, like a king should do, is way out of my league...
Corrin: Hahaha...you might be right about that.
Shiro: Heh, I'm glad it's not just me. I like the IDEA of being a king my father could be proud of. A big leader type. I'd love to do it if I thought I could. But if there's anyone more qualified than me, I think they should rule instead.
Corrin: Hmm...
Shiro: Oh, whoops. I think someone's coming over to talk to us. It's not really a problem if they heard us, but I'd rather keep it quiet for now. We'll talk more about this later, Corrin.
Corrin: Oh, sure...

B Support

Corrin: I was thinking about what you said, about a king's duties... I'll grant that you're still inexperienced and not the natural-born leader that Ryoma is. But those aren't major problems for a king, I don't think. That's what a king has retainers, envoys, and advisors to help him with.
Shiro: That'd be true if every subject was as nice as the folks in this army. But not everyone's like that, are they? Wouldn't it be simpler to decide who rules by strength instead of bloodline?
Corrin: It depends on your definition of "strength."
Shiro: Oh, well, you know. You can just tell how strong someone is by fighting them. It's simple, fair... Every man, woman, and child would get it. The strongest person should be king. I think that would be a way better system. If I knew I was king because I was stronger than everyone, I'd be a lot more confident.
Corrin: What are you saying?! Are you advocating for the strong subjugating the weak? Isn't that exactly what King Garon does? If that's the kind of dog-eat-dog world you want, maybe you WOULD be a poor king!
Shiro: Whoa there, Corrin... I think maybe I'm not explaining this right.
Corrin: Oh?
Shiro: I'll put it another way. You got two commanding officers, right? One is this decorated hero, scars on her face and all. She nods confidently at you. The other keeps checking her clipboard and looking back at her sergeants for help. Whose unit do you join?
Corrin: Er...well...
Shiro: It's not even a choice, right? You pick the one who's gonna get the job done.
Corrin: I-I see your point.
Shiro: So my question is... how would you feel about being the next king of Hoshido, instead of me?
Corrin: Whaaat?! Where did you get that idea?!
Shiro: No, really, I think you've got what it takes. In terms of raw strength, definitely... But you're also generous and considerate, and you work well with people. You're much better suited to be king someday. Hoshido would be a better place under you than me.
Corrin: Shiro... I understand your perspective on this and why you'd think that. And I agree there's some merit to your line of thinking. If you're serious, though, we need to put the idea that I'm truly stronger to the test.
Shiro: Yeah?
Corrin: I propose a duel. Single combat. You may use the lance you specialize in. That will prove whether I'm really as strong and capable as you think.
Shiro: Interesting... I accept!
Corrin: Good. I'll name a time and a place later. Until then...

A Support

Shiro: Hraaaaaah!
Corrin: Ngh...!
Shiro: What's wrong? Had enough?!
Corrin: Urk...!
Shiro: Now you'll see how strong I am!
Corrin: Enough! I'm impressed already! Your technique is perfectly balanced... You don't leave a single opening!
Shiro: If you won't face me, I'll end this now. Even a blunt training lance can leave a bruise or two! Haaaaaaaaaaaah!
(Corrin leaves)
Shiro: What the...? Where did he go?!
Corrin: Right here.
Shiro: Aaah! You got past my defense! How...?! (weapon clang)
Corrin: Hyaaaaaah!
Shiro: Urgh... ... Dammit...
Corrin: Now that my blade is at your throat, can we declare me the victor?
Shiro: Arrrrrrrrghhhhhhh! I almost HAD you!
Corrin: Hahaha. You have a powerful swing, but it tends to go wide. I noticed your strikes were creating a blind spot for you, so I aimed for that. It took a few hasty blocks against your blows before I could gauge the distance... But once I had it figured out, I waited for my chance to enter into your guard.
Shiro: So the whole time I thought I was wearing you down was just part of your plan... Ugh! This was a disaster! I have to admit... you're much, much stronger than me.
Corrin: Then my first command is: Be a good king over Hoshido.
Shiro: Huh?
Corrin: Yes, you're still inexperienced. You're far from qualified yet to be king. But it's a big step that despite your status you realized your deficiencies. You're not satisfied with divine right. You're actively trying to make yourself worthy. I'd say that makes you perfectly suited to be king someday.
Shiro: Corrin...
Corrin: Remember, Ryoma isn't king yet. And he'll reign for a long time before it's your turn. You have time to grow into the role. When the day comes, you'll be a great king. So give yourself more credit.
Shiro: Hmm... When you put it like that, how can I refuse? After all, my original plan was to follow the orders of whoever's stronger. So if you're saying I can be king...then that's what I'll be!
Corrin: Someday you'll see that there's no one better suited to lead Hoshido than you. And when that time comes, I hope I'll be there to support you.
Shiro: Yeah...that'd be great, Corrin...!

Shiro: Hrrrnh! Gotcha!
(Shiro leaves)
Corrin: Shiro? So it is you! What are you doing down by the river so early?
Shiro: Oh, morning, Corrin! I was just out trying to spear a fish or two. I know my way around a lance, after all! See how many fish I've snagged already?
Corrin: That's enough to feed an army. You caught all of these single-handedly?
Shiro: Sure did! Shh—I just saw another one. Hyah!
Corrin: My, you're quick with that spear.
Shiro: Cut it out, before you embarrass me. Hey, what if I cooked some of these fellas for breakfast? They're good eating!
Corrin: Oh, no, I couldn't ask you to trouble yourself.
Shiro: Trouble? No trouble at all! I should warn you, though, I'm not as good with a skillet as I am with a spear.
Corrin: Pfft, you're too modest. I'm sure it will be delicious.
Shiro: Hahah, well, we'll see. I actually already cooked a few in case anybody came by wanting one.
Corrin: Hmm? Oh, is that what the campfire by the riverbank is for?
Shiro: Yep. It takes too long to roast them one by one, so I do it in batches. I figured all the serious eaters would be by at some point... Looks like you're the first!
Corrin: I-I'd hardly call myself a "serious eater"!
Shiro: Hahahah! Here, this one looks just right for you.
Corrin: Wow, that does look tasty... OK, let's have it. *chomp* *chomp* Wow! It's delicious!
Shiro: See? You're a connoisseur after all.
Corrin: This may be the best fish I've ever tasted. Is it because it's freshly caught? Or do I have your skills as a chef to thank?
Shiro: Good question. I dunno. But seeing as you liked that one so much... Go ahead and have some more. I'll join you!
Corrin: You're a generous sort, aren't you, Shiro?
Shiro: Who, me? I don't know about that... I just felt like putting all this together. But never mind that—there's more fish ready to eat. Come on, dig in! You gotta try the trout!
Corrin: H-hold on! One at a time...!

B Support

Shiro: Corrin! I've got another giant pile of fish ready to serve. How's your appetite this morning?
Corrin: Oh, you went spear fishing again today? I can't ask you to bring me fish every time you go out.
Shiro: Sure you can! You probably don't know this, but... I was really happy you liked my fish that time we met by the river! I want you to be as happy as I was then, which is why I keep bringing you fish.
Corrin: Errm...thanks, I think! But this makes five meals of fish in a row, and I'm ready for something else. Besides, there is something I wanted your advice on...
Shiro: I'd be glad to help.
Corrin: You've fed me so many fish now that I feel I should repay you for them somehow. Why don't I act as your partner for lance practice?
Shiro: Hmm...I guess you are my father's sister. If you're as tough as him...
Corrin: You mean Ryoma? Yes, I've had quite a few sparring sessions with him.
Shiro: All right, I'll take you upon that! I love a good challenge.
Corrin: Thank goodness...no more fish...
Shiro: Huh?
Corrin: Oh, it's nothing! I'll let you know when I'm ready, OK?
Shiro: Yeah, sounds great! Thanks!

A Support

Corrin: Hrrnh! Yaah!
Shiro: Oof! You're as good as I hoped, Corrin! I'd have to go back a ways before I had a sparring session this intense!
Corrin: Thank you. You're not so shabby yourself.
Shiro: Hahah, glad I'm living up to your expectations! We've been at this awhile, though... Let's take a breather.
Corrin: Very well.
Shiro: Whew! What a workout. I appreciate you taking the time to train with me. I can already see a few ways to improve my technique!
Corrin: I'm happy to assist. But they tell me you never miss a day's practice... Is there a reason you're training so hard?
Shiro: Hmm? Oh, for my father, I guess.
Corrin: Ryoma? You're trying to outdo him?
Shiro: Yes. My father's outlook is pretty... old fashioned. We don't agree on much. But no one can touch him when it comes to pure skill in a fight. If you had a father like that, wouldn't you feel the need to push yourself all the time? That's why I never let up practicing. One day I'll beat him.
Corrin: I think I can sympathize. But, Shiro...if anyone can surpass Ryoma, I'd bet on you.
Shiro: Then you'd win your bet! Though of course, that's not my highest priority right now. I've still got to bring peace to the world, and other little things like that.
Corrin: Indeed. I'm training for the same reasons.
Shiro: You? No way! You're already terrifying! It's hard to pin down, but you're strong in a way that's different from my father. I'm trying to learn from you as best I can.
Corrin: Haha, you're too kind, Shiro. I think this is as good a time as any to resume training, don't you? We both have a lot of ground to cover!
Shiro: Let's do it!

S Support

Shiro: Corrin, can I ask a huge favor? Let's have a practice match. Right now.
Corrin: Why on earth...?
Shiro: Please, just do this for me!
Corrin: I don't mind at all, but why—
Shiro: No time to explain. I brought a lance for you.
Corrin: Very well. I'm ready when you are.
Shiro: En garde!
Corrin: You're like a man possessed today...!
Shiro: *pant* *pant* Yaaaaaaahh!
Corrin: Ouch!
Shiro: Oh! I'm sorry, Corrin! You OK?
Corrin: Fine...just winded. You came at me so ferociously, I'd lost before the battle had even begun.
Shiro: Yeah...I guess I overdid it just a little.
Corrin: A little? What's going on here, Shiro? You don't seem yourself today.
Shiro: I should come clean. I decided that today's match would decide for me if I should tell you or not...
Corrin: Tell me what?!
Shiro: If I managed to beat you, I was gonna go ahead and say it...so here goes... I'm—I'm in love with you!
Corrin: Shiro...
Shiro: Sorry if this comes as a shock. But over all those fish dinners and mock battles... I noticed I was starting to really care about you. You've always gone the extra mile to support me. When I see you smile... I really believe in myself. I know I can get stronger if I try. So I'm hoping you'll stick around for me.
Corrin: Um... Ahahahah!
Shiro: Huh? What are you laughing for?! I was being serious!
Corrin: I'm sorry, Shiro, I didn't mean to make fun. But this whole confession you set up...it's so you! I can't help but laugh.
Shiro: That's cold, Corrin...
Corrin: Forgive me, I didn't mean to offend you. I actually found it charming. It's a perfect example of what I like about you.
Shiro: What? Really?! Does that mean that you want to be with me too?
Corrin: Yes. Whether it's spear fishing or lance practice, I want to do everything together!
Shiro: Thank the stars! And thank you, Corrin!

(Confession Scene)
Shiro: I'm stronger with you at my side. Stay with me forever.

Shiro: Hey, Mom. Do you feel like doing something today?
Corrin: Hmm? Why do you ask?
Shiro: We didn't get to spend very much time together while I was growing up, right? Maybe now we can make up for that! We should have a mom-son bonding day!
Corrin: Oh, I see. How sweet. But honestly I can't think of anything to do right now. But I'm just delighted that you thought of me, sweetie.
Shiro: No! That's not good enough! I wanna spend time with you now. I mean, I can't spend time with Dad. He's always preoccupied with the war. I guess you don't see him often either. Has Dad ever even given you a gift or anything? How do you know he even cares about you?
Corrin: Sh-Shiro, that's not your father's way.
Shiro: Well, guess what. I'm not like him. I actually want you to know how special you are. So hurry up and think of something cool for us to do together already!
Corrin: Heehee, you're too much.
Shiro: Why are you laughing at me?!
Corrin: Shiro, I don't know why you feel a sudden need to compare yourself to Ryoma. I think he'd be very upset if he heard you going on this way... I'm very lucky to be his wife. He treats me incredibly well.
Shiro: Are you sure about that?
Corrin: Well, of course I am. You may not know it, but he loves me very much, dear. If you really don't believe me, then I'll prove it to you.
Shiro: Really? Well, I'd be curious to see your so-called proof.
Corrin: Fine. I'll collect it and show you soon.

B Support

Corrin: Why hello, Shiro. Do you have a moment?
Shiro: Sure, Mom. Why are you holding those envelopes?
Corrin: These are the proof of your father's love for me.
Shiro: Let me guess. Are those love letters?
Corrin: Yes. I've kept every piece of correspondence that he's sent me over the years. This here is the first one he sent. And this is the most recent.
Shiro: Wow. Dad really likes to write a lot.
Corrin: He certainly does. I never would have dreamed that he would be so diligent with his writing. He expresses his love for me in person too. But I think letters allow him to open up and be more in touch with his emotions. I just love this side of his personality. It's very romantic. Heehee, let me guess. This wasn't what you were expecting, right?
Shiro: Not at all. I guess I've always thought of Dad as being stiff and formal all the time. Maybe I've been wrong about him this whole time. So what kind of stuff does he write about?
Corrin: Oh, Shiro. That's strictly between me and your father. I can't show you.
Shiro: Now I'm even more curious! But I guess knowing that he really cares will have to be good enough.
Corrin: I'm glad you're satisfied. Oh, and, sweetie. We both love you so much.
Shiro: I know. But thanks for saying so, Mom.
Corrin: Heehee, of course.

A Support

Shiro: Mom, there you are! Do you have a sec?
Corrin: Sure. What is it?
Shiro: Remember when you showed me those letters Dad wrote you? I thought maybe I'd try writing down my thoughts and feelings. You know, what it's like to be your son. That kind of thing.
Corrin: You did? Why thank you, Shiro. That's very thoughtful.
Shiro: No, it's not good enough.
Corrin: Huh? What do you mean?
Shiro: Well, it's not very special if I just do the exact same thing as Dad, right? That's why I'm going to treat you to a homemade meal too!
Corrin: Oh, really? A homemade meal?
Shiro: Yep! Anything you want, Mom. Well, anything I can find in the forest at least. But I can't get started until you tell me what sounds good. Does anything sound really tasty to you?
Corrin: Hmm, can I have a bit of time to think about it?
Shiro: I guess it would be hard to think of something off the top of your head. Just get back to me soon.
Corrin: I will.
Shiro: Awesome! Now I've got a leg up on Dad!
Corrin: Shiro, this isn't a competition. You can't possibly win or lose.
Shiro: But I'd be failing you as a son if I didn't make you happy.
Corrin: Heehee. How funny. Your father once said something very similar to me.
Shiro: He did?!
Corrin: Yes. Let me think for a moment... He said he would be a terrible husband if he couldn't make my life wonderful. The apple didn't fall far from the tree with you, Shiro. Heehee.
Shiro: Damn! He's got me beat already!
Corrin: Don't be silly. All I care about is knowing you love me. I'm very proud to be your mother.

Shiro: Hey, Mom. Do you feel like doing something today?
Felicia: Why do you ask? What's gotten into you, all of a sudden?
Shiro: Well, we didn't get to spend much time together when I was little, right? Maybe now we can make up for that with some mom-son bonding time.
Felicia: Ohh, so that's what this is about. Thank you. But honestly, I can't really think of anything off the top of my head. I appreciate the thought though, dear.
Shiro: How can we bond if you don't want to hang out? I mean, I can't spend time with Dad. He's always preoccupied with the war. I guess you don't see him much either. Has he ever given you a gift or anything?
Felicia: Shiro, that's not your father's way.
Shiro: How do you know he cares about you? I want you to know how special you are. Come on. Please! Can't you think of something you would like to do?
Felicia: Heehee.
Shiro: Wh-why are you laughing at me?!
Felicia: Because it's so silly that you feel the need to try and compete with him. I know that he would be so upset if he heard what you were saying. Ryoma treats me wonderfully, dear. I'm so very happy to be his wife.
Shiro: Mom, are you sure? He's never even around to show that he cares.
Felicia: You may not be aware, but your father loves me very much. I can even prove it to you.
Shiro: I admit, I'm curious to see your so-called proof. I'll hold you to your word, Mom.
Felicia: OK! It's a deal!

Felicia: Ahh, Shiro, there you are. Do you have a moment to spare?
Shiro: Hi, Mom. Sure, what's up? Why are you holding those envelopes?
Felicia: These are the proof I was telling you about.
Shiro: Let me take a guess. Are they love letters?
Felicia: That's right! I've saved every one of them. They are my dearest treasures. This here is the first one I received. And this is the most recent.
Shiro: Wow, I had no idea that Dad was such a prolific writer.
Felicia: I knew he was a diligent man, but even I was surprised by his commitment. I never dreamed I would receive dozens of letters! He expresses his feelings when we talk in person too. Yet somehow, writing allows him to explore his emotions in a deeper way. I think these letters are an outlet for him. They show a side of his personality that I absolutely adore. Does this come as a surprise?
Shiro: I always thought Dad was stiff and formal. Maybe I've been wrong all along. Tell me, what does he write about?
Felicia: Wouldn't you like to know? Sorry, Shiro. But it's a secret. Heehee. I would never betray your father's confidence.
Shiro: Now I'm even more curious! I suppose knowing how much you two care about each other will have to do.
Felicia: Heehee. I'm happy to hear you say that. We both love you very much. Please don't worry so much.
Shiro: I-I know that! But thanks for saying so, Mom.
Felicia: Of course, dear.

Shiro: Well, after you showed me Dad's letters, I started thinking... I thought maybe I'd try writing out my thoughts and feelings too.
Felicia: Really? How thoughtful. Thank you!
Shiro: I don't know. Now it just doesn't seem good enough.
Felicia: Eh? Why is that?
Shiro: It's not very special if I'm just doing the same thing as Dad, right? That's why I've decided to treat you to a fancy meal too!
Felicia: Oh really?
Shiro: Yeah. Whatever your heart desires. Or at least anything I can find in the forest. I can't get started until you tell me what you'd like to eat. Does anything in particular sound appetizing to you?
Felicia: Hmm, may I have a bit of time to think about it?
Shiro: I guess it would be tough to think of something off the top of your head. Just tell me when you make up your mind.
Felicia: I will, dear.
Shiro: Yes! Now I've got a leg up on Dad!
Felicia: This isn't a game, Shiro. There are no winners and losers here.
Shiro: I just know I'd be a failure as your son if I couldn't make you happy.
Felicia: Is that right? It's funny—your father once said something along those same lines.
Shiro: He did?!
Felicia: Yes. Let me remember what he said. He said that his success as a husband could only be measured by my happiness. Heehee. You're very much his son.
Shiro: Damn! He always has the upper hand!
Felicia: Heehee. How unfortunate for you. It's sweet that you treasure me, Shiro. I'm very lucky to be your mother.

Shiro: Hey there, Mom. Is there anything you'd like to do today?
Azura: Oh, hi, Shiro. What do you mean?
Shiro: We never spent a lot of time together when I was growing up, right? So, I figure we can make up for that now with some mother-son bonding time!
Azura: Ah, I see what you're saying. Hmmm... I'm sorry, Shiro. I can't seem to think of anything right at this moment.
Shiro: But... Nothing at all? How are we supposed to bond if you can't think of anything? I mean, I can't hang out with Dad—his mind is constantly on the war. Though I suppose you can't either. Has he even given you any gifts?
Azura: Shiro, he's not like that...
Shiro: Well, I'm not like HIM! I want to make sure my mother knows how special she is. Come on—think of something you'd like to do together!
Azura: You're always quick to compare yourself to your father, Shiro. You mustn't be so tough on him, though I know you prefer to express yourself. Your father is a good man, though it's hard to see it since he's away so often.
Shiro: But he's never around to take care of you, Mom. Isn't that his duty?
Azura: He shows his affection in other ways. One day I'll show you proof, if you like.
Shiro: I would! And I'll hold you to your word! I will set my eyes on this proof of my father's love!
Azura: Heehee, I look forward to seeing your reaction.

Shiro: Oh. Let me guess: love letters?
Azura: Heehee, yes. I treasure each and every one that he has given me. This one right here is the first one I got... And these are some of the most recent.
Shiro: I had no idea Dad was such a prolific writer.
Azura: I was surprised as well when the letters kept coming. One I expected, but dozens? He's always so serious, I didn't think he'd make the time to keep writing. Of course, he tells me how he feels in person, too, but these are part of him now. It's a part of him I absolutely adore, too.
Shiro: Hmmm. I'd really never thought of him as sentimental at all. This is pretty surprising. What kind of stuff did he write?
Azura: Oh no, these are my treasures. No one but me will ever know what words your father shared with me.
Shiro: But...that just makes me more curious! I suppose I'll just have to accept that you two really do care about each other.
Azura: I'm glad to hear that. You also know that we both love you dearly, right?

Azura: Oh really? That sounds like a great idea!
Shiro: I thought so too, but now...I think it isn't good enough.
Azura: What do you mean?
Shiro: It doesn't seem all that special for me to just copy what Dad was already doing. That's why I decided to also treat you to a nice meal! Anything you want! Well, anything I can find in the forest. And kill on my own... But I can't get started until you tell me what you'd like! Any ideas?
Azura: Oh, hmmm. There are so many things I can think of, though. Can I have some time to narrow it down?
Shiro: Oh, yeah, of course! I suppose it would be tough to pick something so suddenly, huh. That's fine! Most importantly, I've got a one-up on Dad!
Azura: Oh, Shiro. You don't need to compete with your father over me, you know.
Shiro: But...I'd be a failure as a son if I wasn't able to make you happy!
Azura: Your father says basically the same thing about himself. Did you know that?
Shiro: He does?!
Azura: Heehee, of course. I guess this is another way that the two of you are alike.

Shiro: Now I'm even more curious! I guess I can accept that you two really do care about each other.

Shiro: Well, after you showed me Dad's letters, I started thinking. I thought maybe I'd try writing out my feelings too. I wanted to let you know what it is like to be your son.
Orochi: Oh, really? How thoughtful. I'd love to read anything you wrote.
Shiro: I don't know. Now it just doesn't seem good enough.
Orochi: Why not, sweetheart?
Shiro: It's not very special if I'm just doing the same thing that Dad does, right? That's why I've decided to treat you to a delicious meal too!
Orochi: A nice meal, you say? Shiro, you shouldn't have.
Shiro: I insist. Anything you want! Well, anything I can find in the forest at least. But I can't get started until you tell me what you'd like to eat. Does anything sound good?
Orochi: Hmm, I'm not sure... Can you give me a bit of time to think about it?
Shiro: I guess it would be hard to think of something off the top of your head. Just let me know! More importantly, now I've got a leg up on Dad!
Orochi: Why are you still thinking of your father as a rival? Shiro, you shouldn't be competing over something like this.
Shiro: But I'd feel like a terrible son if I wasn't able to make you happy.
Orochi: Heehee, you sound just like your father.
Shiro: I do?! What do you mean?
Orochi: Ryoma is always saying the same thing. "I'd fail you as a husband if I couldn't make you happy." Heehee, the apple didn't fall far from the tree with you.
Shiro: Damn it! He's always got an advantage over me!
Orochi: Heehee, don't get upset, Shiro. I understand how you feel. Being loved this much by you... Well, it makes me so happy to be your mother.

Ryoma: Really? That's rare... Then what do you want? Speak your mind.
Shiro: Well. The truth is, I... I'm very interested in your sword.
Ryoma: My sword?
Shiro: Yeah. Was it custom made? I've never seen another blade like it. The design is so ornate. Everything about it seems special.
Ryoma: Hmm. It's true that Raijinto is unique... Hoshidan kings have passed it down from generation to generation.
Shiro: Wow... So you're saying that my ancestors once used it?
Ryoma: It was my father's weapon of choice. Watching him wield it on the battlefield always inspired awe in me. I yearned to have the blade for myself.
Shiro: Interesting. I understand the feeling.
Ryoma: One day, you will inherit this sword. However, you are not yet ready. You lack the discipline and preparedness of a king. Your impetuous nature makes it clear that you aren't ready to lead.
Shiro: Why would I be ready? I had no clue that I was royalty until I came to this world!
Ryoma: Yes, that's true.
Shiro: Are you concerned about my capabilities? I'll continue to develop my skills. I will prove myself to you. I've gotten much stronger since leaving the Deeprealms. I've even bested you from time to time when we train. You know how much I've improved.
Ryoma: You've grown as a warrior, certainly. But I'm concerned about your unhealthy fixation on winning.
Shiro: What are you talking about?! I mean, I DID become a spear fighter to beat you in sparring. But I wouldn't say that I'm OBSESSED with winning, exactly.
Ryoma: You only use a spear to try and gain the upper hand? Unbelievable...
Shiro: Yeah!!
Ryoma: *sigh* That reductive thinking proves how much you still have to learn... You will never inherit this sword with your mind-set. I need some fresh air. I think I'll go outside to clear my head...
(Ryoma leaves)
Shiro: Ah, come on! Don't storm off! Daaaaaddddd! My attitude is not THAT bad...

B Support

Shiro: Ha! Hiya!
Ryoma: ... Keep an eye on that temper of yours, Shiro. It weakens you.
Shiro: What?! D-Dad, you were watching me train?
Ryoma: I was. Apparently you lack the composure to even observe my presence. Be mindful of your surroundings. Otherwise your training is meaningless. Tell me... Why are you practicing?
Shiro: It's what we talked about before. How I won't inherit the sword with my attitude. I was thinking about that... Honestly, I was pretty mad, so I decided to blow off a little steam.
Ryoma: Hmph. I see. Shiro, do you recall the conversation we had after leaving the Deeprealms?
Shiro: Huh?
Ryoma: We talked about what it takes to rule. Fairness, patience. Compassion. To be a good king, you must have strength and you must be ever prepared.
Shiro: You were saying that a king has to take responsibility for their actions, right? They must be mindful of taking lives, even to protect their own people.
Ryoma: Yes, I'm glad you remember. If a king seeks only to triumph on the field of battle, he knows not how to lead. If a king is focused only on winning battles, he misses what's really important. You do not fight for glory. You fight to preserve the future of the kingdom. Don't ever lose sight of that.
Shiro: Y-yeah, you're right. I think I understand why you said I'm too concerned with strength. Maybe I'm just not ready yet.
Ryoma: Don't be discouraged. You remembered my words all on your own, yes? That means my wisdom has taken root. You are still learning.
Shiro: Dad...
Ryoma: I simply wish to push you in a thoughtful direction. It's obvious to me that you're improving by leaps and bounds. Hold fast to your convictions and preparedness. They will take you far. If ever you're lost, know that I will always help you find your way.
Shiro: Thank you.
Ryoma: It's my duty as your father. You should always feel free to discuss whatever is on your mind with me.
Shiro: OK! I will!

A Support

Shiro: Hey, Dad, do you have a minute?
Ryoma: Certainly. What is on your mind, Shiro?
Shiro: Remember our conversation the other day?
Ryoma: About preparedness and responsibility. Sure, I remember.
Shiro: You should know that I won't forget my promise. I need to make sure and focus, to keep my wits about me. So I went ahead and did this. Take a look...
Ryoma: What? Oh. You etched a phrase onto the back of your arm guard, eh? These words... So you've recorded your resolve.
Shiro: I never want to forget what's most important. That's why I decided to etch a reminder. Like you said, I'm still inexperienced. I don't know if I'm worthy or even capable of being the next king. Honestly, I doubt that Raijinto would want to be anywhere near me.
Ryoma: Shiro...
Shiro: The last thing I want is for the line of successors to end with you... For the sake of you, Grandfather, and all the others who have wielded Raijinto... I must be prepared to take the lives of my enemies and protect the kingdom. Even if I get caught up in the heat of battle, I will not forget my resolve... This arm guard will serve as a constant reminder, in peace and war.
Ryoma: ...I see. You're turning into a fine man.
Shiro: Huh? What do you mean?!
Ryoma: Hearing you speak so passionately makes me very proud. You're making great strides toward becoming king, Shiro.
Shiro: R-really? It feels so odd to be praised by you.
Ryoma: Ha! Have I embarrassed you?
Shiro: Haha. Maybe a little bit.
Ryoma: Heh. You'll have to forgive me...
Shiro: Just know that eventually I'm going to get the upper hand when we spar! And perhaps eventually I will be worthy of inheriting Raijinto. I will become strong both for my country... and for my people.
Ryoma: I have very high hopes for you.

Camilla: Yes, let me think... He said he'd be an utter failure as a husband if he couldn't make me happy. Heehee. As they say, like father, like son.
Shiro: Damn! He always has the upper hand!
Camilla: Calm down, Shiro. I want to thank you. Knowing that you're so fond of me is wonderful. I'm so happy to be your mother.

Shiro: Hey, Mom! Do you feel like doing something today?
Elise: Huh? What do you mean? Right now?
Shiro: Well, we didn't get to spend much time together when I was growing up, right? Maybe now we can make up for that with some mom-son bonding time!
Elise: Wow, what a sweet thought, Shiro! I can't really think of anything to do at the moment. I appreciate the thought, though!
Shiro: Really? Nothing at all? But how can we bond if you can't think of anything? I mean, I can't spend time with Dad. He's always preoccupied with the war. Though I guess you don't see him often either. Has he ever even given you any gifts?
Elise: Sh-Shiro... Your father isn't like that.
Shiro: Well, I'm not like HIM! I want you to know how special you are. Come on, please! Can't you think of something you'd like to do together?
Elise: Teehee. Oh, Shiro.
Shiro: Wh-why are you laughing at me?!
Elise: Because you're so cute! Please, give him a break. I know it's hard not having him here. But your father is a good man. He'd be terribly hurt to hear you say otherwise. In spite of everything, being his wife is wonderful. He treats me quite well!
Shiro: But he's never here to show you that he really cares. Isn't that his duty?
Elise: I know your father loves me, sweetie. If you like, I'll even show you real proof someday!
Shiro: I'm curious to see this so-called proof. I'll hold you to your word!
Elise: Heehee... Just you wait!

B Support

Elise: There you are, Shiro! Do you have a second to talk?
Shiro: Sure! Umm, what are those envelopes?
Elise: These are the proof you were asking for. This is how your father shows his undying love for me.
Shiro: Oh... Are those love letters?
Elise: That's right! Each and every one is like a treasure to me. I've kept every one that he has sent. This is the very first one that he ever wrote... And this one is the most recent.
Shiro: Wow. I had no idea that Dad was such a prolific writer.
Elise: He sure is! I was a little surprised when they kept arriving. One or two letters, sure, but he has sent me dozens! He likes to tell me about his feelings in person too. I think writing allows him to be truly free with his emotions. It's a tender part of him that I just adore! Teehee... Did I catch you off guard, Shiro?
Shiro: Well, I've always thought Dad was stiff and formal... I'm just surprised. Maybe I've been wrong all along. Tell me, what does he write about?
Elise: Heehee, that's a secret, sweetie! These letters are for my eyes only.
Shiro: But now I'm even more curious! I guess I can accept that you two really do care about each other.
Elise: We sure do! And most importantly, we love you dearly!
Shiro: I-I know that! But thank you, Mom.
Elise: Teehee! Of course!

A Support

Shiro: Hey, Mom! Do you have a minute?
Elise: Sure! What's up, Shiro?
Shiro: Well, after you showed me Dad's letters, I started thinking... I thought maybe I'd try writing out my thoughts and my feelings, too. You know, what it's like to be your son... that kind of thing.
Elise: You did? Aww, that's so sweet!
Shiro: I thought so too at first... But now it just doesn't seem good enough.
Elise: Huh? What do you mean?
Shiro: I realized it's not very special if I'm just doing the same thing that he does, right? That's why I decided to treat you to a delicious meal too!
Elise: Wow! A nice meal? You shouldn't have!
Shiro: Yeah, anything you want! Well, anything I can find in the forest at least. I can't get started until you tell me what you'd like to eat. Anything sound good?
Elise: Really? Hmm... I love so many kinds of food. Can I have a bit of time to think about it?
Shiro: Of course! I guess it would be hard to think of something off the top of your head. Just let me know!
Elise: I will.
Shiro: Most importantly, now I've got a leg up on Dad!
Elise: Shiro, you don't need to compete with your father over me.
Shiro: But I'd feel like a terrible son if I wasn't able to make you happy.
Elise: It's funny you should say that... Your father once told me the same thing about himself!
Shiro: Really? He did?!
Elise: Yep! You two are more alike than you realize.
Shiro: Damn! He's always got an advantage over me!
Elise: Teehee, you're a silly boy... Being loved so much makes me very happy.

Kana: Hmph!
Shiro: Got your hmph-face on, huh, Kana?
Kana: It's raining, Shiro. It's been doing that lots lately.
Shiro: Probably not going to stop anytime soon either.
Kana: I'm going to go crazy if I can't get outside to play soon.
Shiro: Oh, I gotcha. Then how about we whittle ourselves some rain-go-away figures?
Kana: That's not a thing.
Shiro: Sure it is. You get yourself some logs. Whittle some heads on 'em. Make the faces angry looking so they scare off the rain. Blammo!
Kana: You sure that works?
Shiro: Sure! Come on. I'll help you make a whole bunch of 'em.
Kana: So what do we do with all of these rain-go-away figures, Shiro?
Shiro: Put 'em in doorways, windows, anywhere the rain clouds can see their angry faces.
Kana: I don't think the faces are angry enough... I really need this to work.
Shiro: Well, what if we make 'em all look like our parents?
Kana: Yeah! I know I always do whatever Mama and Papa say when they look angry.
Shiro: Whoa. You're just scribbling all sorts of stuff on those faces, aren't you!
Kana: I draw pretty well. Here, I'll do your face on this one.
Shiro: Pretty good, pretty good... Make me look tougher though.
Kana: What? All right. I'll just make the eyebrows darker.
Shiro: Whoa! I don't have a unibrow!
Kana: You don't? Oh, I guess you don't. Too late. Come on, Shiro. Let's stick these figures in these windows.
Shiro: I bet we're going to have some great weather tomorrow, Kana!
Kana: I'd be scared off too, seeing all of these super-mad figures!

B Support

Kana: Hmpf!
Shiro: You know, if you keep making that hmpf-face, it'll stay that way. What's got you down now?
Kana: Our rain-go-away figures only scared the rain away for a day. It's gross again.
Shiro: It has to rain sometime. But our figures did work, right?
Kana: Yes, but Mama made me stay inside that day and do chores. And then it's been raining ever since.
Shiro: Maybe the rain's getting back at you for putting up all those figures... Just kidding, little man. This is just how life goes when you're a kid. Always waiting for the rain to stop.
Kana: I'll never be able to play outside ever again!
Shiro: Yeesh—I remember that feeling now. Horrible.
Kana: It IS horrible!
Shiro: Hey, let's just go outside.
Kana: Now? But we'll get wet.
Shiro: So what if we get wet? Just think of it as swimming without a lake.
Kana: But won't my parents—?
Shiro: Just tell me—does it sound like fun or not?
Kana: Uh, yes?
Shiro: Darn right, yes. Let's go right now. We'll have a race somewhere muddy.
Kana: Ha! Yes! Let's go!
Shiro: Ready, little man? You lead the charge. I'll be right behind you.
Kana: You're going to follow me? OK then... CHARGE!

A Support

Shiro: So, hey there, Kana.
Kana: Hi, Shiro!
Shiro: Sorry I got you in trouble for running around in the rain and mud. I heard Corrin was furious.
Kana: She was mad, all right.
Shiro: Yeah, and I said it was OK to go out. Sorry again.
Kana: What? That was the best time ever. I'm glad you thought of it.
Shiro: You are? Huh.
Kana: Jumping in puddles, racing around in the mud. It was THE BEST.
Shiro: Oh! Glad you had fun. I guess I did too.
Kana: Wish it was raining right now.
Shiro: What, getting yelled at once isn't enough?
Kana: But it was so fun.
Shiro: I guess we could just go outside and roll around in the dirt.
Kana: That doesn't sound that great. Besides, we don't have to worry about getting yelled at. We'll just ask permission.
Shiro: Now THAT doesn't sound that great. Asking to go out and play in the rain?
Kana: I guess that was half the fun... Ugh! When will it rain again?!
Shiro: Hey, buddy. Here's a plan. Let's take all those rain-go-away figures... And we'll throw 'em all in the lake. That could convince the rain to come back. We'll stand at the water's edge... And we'll throw those darn figures as hard as we can. Sound good?
Kana: Where do you come up with these ideas, Shiro?! Sure! Let's go, big buddy!

Kana: Hey, Shiro! Wanna go on patrol with me?
Shiro: Hm? You mean right now?
Kana: Mhm! I want to help everyone out as much as possible! Which for now means patrolling as much as possible! Are you in?
Shiro: Sure! What kind of big brother would I be if I weren't?
Kana: Yay! Let's go!
Shiro: Er—wait. You mean just us?
Kana: Yup, you'll be OK, though. I've been training a whole lot.
Shiro: I know I'LL be OK. It's you I'm worried about.
Kana: It'll be fine, it'll be fine! With our special sibling powers, we can take on anything!
Shiro: Heh. All right. Fine. But you better stick close to me.
Kana: Woohoo! We should go patrolling every day!
Shiro: E-every day?
Kana: Yeah! I mean, patrols need to be done every day anyway. Why not by us?
Shiro: Every...day...
Kana: What's the matter, Shiro?
Shiro: Oh, nothing. Just saying good-bye to all my leisure time for the foreseeable future.
Kana: OK! Neat! I can't wait for tomorrow's patrol. Thanks, Shiro!

B Support

Kana: Thanks for coming on patrol with me today, Shiro!
Shiro: No problem, Kana. I've actually been enjoying these patrols quite a bit. It's nice watching my brother grow into such a capable young man.
Kana: Really? You mean it?
Shiro: Yeah. I think you've got a natural talent for this sort of thing.
Kana: Heehee. Thanks! What about you? Do you have any special talents, Shiro?
Shiro: Me? I'm a pretty good duelist. I've never lost a one-on-one battle.
Kana: Wow! That's amazing! I bet if we combined our talents, we'd be unstoppable!
Shiro: Haha. Keep dreaming, little guy.
Kana: All right, we should get moving. We're burning daylight here. And we've still got a long ways to go if we're gonna be the best patrollers in camp!
Shiro: K-Kana? Kana! Hey, wait for me!

A Support

Kana: Shiro! Guess what time it is! Thaaaat's right! It's patrol time!
Shiro: All right, sure. Let's go.
Kana: Er, but...first I wanted to ask you for a favor.
Shiro: A favor? Sure, what is it?
Kana: I want you to teach me how to be like you!
Shiro: Huh? What do you mean?
Kana: Well, you said you were really good at dueling, right? I wanna learn to do that! 'Cause I'm the youngest kid in camp, right? So there's a lot I still can't do. I know I can't just become a grown-up, but I can try to learn lots of different skills. Besides, I've always dreamed of learning something from my big brother! I used to wonder a lot about what it would be like to spend more time with you.
Shiro: Kana...
Kana: So now that I can, I want to learn as much as possible from you! Is that OK?
Shiro: Of course it's OK. I'm glad you asked.
Kana: Thank you so much!
Shiro: But I'm not going to let you get ahead of me that easy. I want to learn from you too. Let's see which of us can become stronger the fastest.
Kana: OK, but I'm not gonna be the one to lose! That's a promise!
Shiro: Heh. Me either. All right, then. Today is patrol duty. Tomorrow, the real training begins!
Kana: Sounds good to me!

Kana: Hey, Papa? There's something I wanted to ask you about...
Shiro: Of course, Kana. What is it?
Kana: It's Mama. She's always treating me like a child.
Shiro: Is that so strange? You're her son. She'll always think of you as her baby boy. And, besides that, you ARE still quite young.
Kana: I know, I know. I just mean I'm not as much of a child as I used to be. I want to help out with things. But whenever I try, she just tells me to go play with my friends instead.
Shiro: I see. You want more responsibilities.
Kana: Yeah! I want to show her that she can rely on me. Do you have any ideas for things I could do for her?
Shiro: Hm... Sometimes I cook fish for her. She seems to like that. I think.
Kana: Oh...
Shiro: Hm? What's wrong?
Kana: I guess it's... That's a special thing just between you and Mama. But I was hoping for something special that I could do for her...
Shiro: Aw, my fish are that special? Haha! I knew it! *ahem* But, yes, I understand how it would not be too helpful for you. Hrm...
Kana: I know! Let's have a contest, Papa!
Shiro: A contest?
Kana: Yeah! We'll have a contest to see which of us can make Mama happier! Between the two of us, I'm sure we can come up with all sorts of things. Whoever gets thanked the most wins!
Shiro: A little friendly competition between father and son, hm? Interesting. All right. I accept your challenge.
Kana: Really? Yay!
Shiro: But remember, I'm the one who won your mother's heart! Beating me will be no mean feat. And I have no intention of going easy on you.
Kana: That's fine with me, Papa. I'm gonna beat you fair and square!
Shiro: All right, then. Let the games begin!

B Support

Kana: Hey, Papa! I've been making a ton of progress on our contest! How about you?
Shiro: Well, I haven't done anything too special yet, but she's thanked me quite a bit. Let me see. I have a tally here somewhere...
Kana: WOW! That's a lot! You got all of these already?
Shiro: Yeah, I'm as surprised as you are. I guess I'm a better husband than I thought, huh?
Kana: Well—I'm still not gonna lose! Here, see! I recorded all mine too! And the total is...um...
Shiro: WH-WHAT?! You've got just as many as I do!
Kana: I do? I do! Haha! Kana's gonna beat you big-time, Papa! I don't have to work, so I can spend all day doing things for Mama!
Shiro: Th-this isn't possible! What have you been doing that your mother could love as much as my homemade fish?!
Kana: Mostly I've been trying to help out around camp. I spend each morning making arrows for the fletchers. Then at lunch I chop the bear meat for the cooks and hand out the food. Oh, and at night I make sure the mounts are all fed and outfitted for the next day. Plus I do a bunch of other little things whenever I have the time!
Shiro: That's a lot of work... And you've been doing this every day? You really have been growing up, haven't you?
Kana: Huh?
Shiro: Oh, just a thought. It wasn't that long ago you were still in swaddling clothes. And now, all of a sudden, you're making real, important contributions to the army. You're more grown up than you look.
Kana: Heehee. Yeah, I've been working real hard. Soon there'll be nothing I can't do!
Shiro: I believe it. I bet Corrin is very grateful for all the good work you've been doing.
Kana: "Good work"... Hm. I just realized...Mama hasn't really been saying "thank you" to me very much. She just tells me "good work" and smiles. It's kind of a sad smile, come to think of it...
Shiro: Eh, I wouldn't overthink it. I'm sure she really appreciates all you've been doing.
Kana: OK, Papa. If you say so... But don't think this means I'm going to let you win!
Shiro: Heh. Not for a moment.

A Support

Kana: *grumble*
Shiro: Hey there, Kana.
Kana: Hi, Papa...
Shiro: Hm? What's wrong? I'd expected you to still be exulting over your victory in our little contest. Or has besting your old man already lost its novelty?
Kana: Oh, no. I'm still happy about that, I guess. It's just that I was trying to do things for Mama earlier, and she made me stop. She said I should be spending more time playing around with my friends. She still thinks I'm just a kid. Haven't I shown her I can help out with stuff too? Am I messing up? Is she just pretending I'm doing a good job?
Shiro: Oh, is that what it is? I wouldn't worry. It's not you. You've been doing a great job. I promise.
Kana: Then why doesn't she want me to help with anything?
Shiro: Corrin knows full well you're capable of taking on new responsibilities. But when you do, it makes her worry. And it makes her feel lonely.
Kana: Huh? Why?
Shiro: She doesn't want you to miss out on your childhood. And she doesn't want to lose her little boy. She's happy to see you're growing up, but she's worried you won't need her anymore.
Kana: But...I'm just trying to pull my own weight. I don't get why that would be a bad thing...
Shiro: Heh. I'm not sure I can explain it, myself. But I do have a suggestion for you. Keep helping your mother like you have been, but don't work yourself quite as hard. Take breaks to see your friends and play games. And it wouldn't hurt to try and spend some quality time with her now and then. Think you can handle that?
Kana: But...
Shiro: Hm? Do you not want to spend time with your mother?
Kana: No, that's not it! It's just...I feel like that stuff is for babies.
Shiro: No, Kana. It's not for babies. It's for children. And your mother wants you to stay a child for just a little while longer. We both do.
Kana: Papa...
Shiro: We know that you're growing up and that you want to be relied upon. You're going to be a great man someday. Everybody knows it. But for now...relax. Enjoy yourself. At least a little bit, here and there.
Kana: OK. Thanks, Papa. I'll think real hard about everything you've said.
Shiro: Good. You know... I think it would be good if you spent some quality time with your mother tonight. Have a nice night in, just the two of you.
Kana: Wait! What about you?
Shiro: M-me? No no no. I've got plans—
Kana: But, Papa! Don't you need to take a break sometimes too? I thought you wanted me and Mama to be happy!
Shiro: Well, when you put it like that... Agh! Fine, OK. I'll stay in tonight.
Kana: Yaaay!
Shiro: Heh. So, a night in with the family, huh? Maybe I could get used to this.

Kana: Hmph! Bad apple, BAD!
Shiro: What? Who's a bad apple, Kana?
Kana: Oh, Shiro! No, I mean that apple. Up there. In this tree.
Shiro: I getcha. What'd that apple do that was so bad?
Kana: It won't drop into my hands. I've yelled and yelled. But, nothing. I'd turn into a dragon and bite it off the tree, but I don't have my dragonstone. So now I'm stuck.
Shiro: Good thing I came along.
Kana: Why? You can't reach it either.
Shiro: But you can if I hoist you up on my shoulders.
Kana: Do it! Do it! Wheeee! Do it!
Shiro: Ha! You're game for anything, huh? OK, up you go!
Kana: Whoa! I feel like a giant! Or I guess you and I are a four-armed ogre! RRRAWR! You can't escape us, you bad, bad, bad apple! Got it!
Shiro: No one can stop our ogre power!
Kana: Thanks, Shiro! You can put me down now. I wanted this for my papa.
Shiro: You're really a good kid. You really love that Corrin, don't you?
Kana: Yep! Papa's the best. But I'll split this apple with you. Here, take a bite.
Shiro: Huh? But that's your dad's! I shouldn't get my slobber all over it.
Kana: Oh, don't worry. Apples are for eating. Here. See? I'll take a bite too.
Shiro: All right then, hand it over. Any worms in there, Kana?
Kana: Mffle-mphh-mffpt!

B Support

Kana: Thanks for helping me get that apple the other day, Shiro! Riding on your shoulders was fun. Being a four-armed ogre was great!
Shiro: That apple was tasty. Was there any left by the time you got it to your dad?
Kana: Almost half. So I was thinking that we should pick more for everyone! I brought my dragonstone, so I don't have to ride on your shoulders this time.
Shiro: All right, let's head to the apple tree. Sure you don't want to ride on my shoulders on the way?
Kana: Can I? Really?
Shiro: Up you go!
Kana: RRAWR! The four-armed ogre lives again. No apple is safe.
Shiro: You are one crazy kid.
Kana: It's fun riding on someone's shoulders!
Shiro: Yeah, come to think of it, I used to think that was pretty neat too.
Kana: Nothing more fun!
Shiro: Nothing? That sounds like a challenge.
Kana: What do you mean?
Shiro: Has your dad ever grabbed you by the hands...and whirled... you around...like this?
Kana: Wheeeeee! I feel like a windmill!
Shiro: Fun, right? Hang on. I'll go faster.
Kana: Eeeeeee! Faster, faster!
Shiro: No, no, no—that's enough. I might just lose my lunch if I keep spinning.
Kana: Don't worry, Shiro. If you lose your lunch, we'll pick more apples. You know, you're sort of the best playmate ever!
Shiro: Aw, come on. You're just saying that.
Kana: No, I'm serious. Now, spin me again! Faster, faster, faster!
Shiro: All right. Hang on tight. And yell "stop" if you get too dizzy, all right?
Kana: Whooooo! Faster, faster, faster!
Shiro: Did you hear me, Kana? I said to yell "stop" if you get too— Oh, fine. Here you go!
Kana: Wheeeeee! Faster, Shiro! FASTER!

A Support

Kana: Shiro, Shiro!
Shiro: Well, if it isn't the other half of my four-armed ogre! How are you, Kana? We going to pick more apples today?
Kana: No, I'm bored with that.
Shiro: Ha! Bored, huh? Then grab my hands and I'll spin you around!
Kana: Maybe later. I want to play Walk One Pace behind Me Because I'm a Princess!
Shiro: Uh, that's a long name.
Kana: Is it? I heard it's a game that girls play. It sounds kinda dumb, though. But I'll give it a try if you will.
Shiro: That doesn't sound very fun for either one of us.
Kana: I know. But I heard that's the game that princesses play.
Shiro: But what am I in that game? Am I your captive—some monster you caught?
Kana: I think you're a servant?
Shiro: I don't mind being that. But it still doesn't sound fun. Besides, you are a princess. And I'm a prince. Where's the fun?
Kana: Huh? I didn't think of that, I guess. It's boring being a princess.
Shiro: Being a prince too.
Kana: Well, let's try it.
Shiro: All right. How many paces? One? Behind you? Like this?
Kana: I think so?
Shiro: Kana...
Kana: I know. I know. Boring.
Shiro: Super boring.
Kana: Anything is better than this. Why is this even a game? Am I supposed to feel special or something?
Shiro: Ha! What am I again? A servant?
Kana: Maybe? What's so funny?
Shiro: I think I know what this game really is. I think you're a bride. And I'm following behind you, carrying your bridal train. I'm your handmaiden.
Kana: Bridal train? Handmaiden? What IS this dumb game, Shiro?! Some wedding aisle thing? I don't want to play this anymore.
Shiro: Hmm? Why not? I was going to throw some flower petals at you.
Kana: How about we stick to what we like? Spin me around, Shiro. Just once—then I have to run.
Shiro: Hang on tight. Ready?
Kana: Wheeee! WHEEEE! Thank you for the lovely dance, my prince!
Shiro: And to you, my princess. Until next we spin—farewell!

S Support

Shiro: So, Kana, remember that dumb game we played the other day? Where I was walking down the wedding aisle, carrying your bridal train?
Kana: Let's never play that again. Walking behind people is stupid.
Shiro: Not so fast. What if we change the game? You know, make it more interesting.
Kana: Like how?
Shiro: You'll be a great knight. I'll carry all of your weapons. It's called Walk One Pace behind Me Because You're My Squire!
Kana: And you're the squire? But I don't know how to be a knight.
Shiro: You will by the end of our game. It might take a while to play. Maybe a day. Or a week. Or a year.
Kana: A year?
Shiro: What, that doesn't sound like fun?
Kana: Of course it does! I just didn't think you'd have that much time to goof around.
Shiro: For you, Kana...? I'll always make time to goof off!
Kana: You promise?
Shiro: Sure. What would I be without you anyway, except half a four-armed ogre?
Kana: Ha! Then you couldn't pick apples!
Shiro: Or you. See? We're better than anyone at playing games.
Kana: All right then. It's ogre time.
Shiro: Then up you go...alley-oop!
Kana: Hear me roar! RROWWR! Wow, Shiro! Am I louder than before or what?!
Shiro: What?! I can't hear you! My ears are ringing! I think you're louder than before!
Kana: After this, let's try that whole knight-and-squire game!
Shiro: You're on, Kana!

Shiro: Hmmm... Where did Shigure run off to? I can't imagine why he'd be in these hills or fields... But then again, I couldn't find him around camp either.
Shigure: *singing*
Shiro: Wait a second... There he is! I wonder what he's doing sitting on that tree stump. And who are all those peop— What?! They aren't people! Those are... forest animals?! Squirrels, rabbits...even bears! Sitting quietly, like he's training them.
Shigure: I think that's enough for one day. How did you enjoy it?
Shiro: Wait... Is he trying to talk with them?
Shigure: Ah! Who's there?! Oh no! Come back!
Shiro: Whoa! Jeez, it's like they're running for their lives... Sorry for scaring them off.
Shigure: You just startled them, Shiro. And you startled me too! But don't worry about it. They can't help being a little shy. So tell me, what are you doing all the way out here?
Shiro: I was just looking around for you. Since we didn't grow up together, I've been thinking... We may be brothers, but I don't know the first thing about you. So it would be great to actually spend some time together.
Shigure: Oh, I see. I don't know what to say. I'm really not the most interesting person around... You might have more fun talking with someone more outgoing.
Shiro: What are you talking about? I want to hang out with you! We're brothers!
Shigure: Please, don't feel obligated to try and be my friend, just because of that. Honestly, I'm not in the most social mood right now. Please, excuse me...
(Shigure leaves)
Shiro: H-hey! Stop, Shigure! That wasn't very nice...

B Support

Shiro: *sigh* Where has Shigure gone today? Hmm... Maybe he's back at that clearing in the hills... Yeah, he's probably sitting around with all those animal friends of his. Yep, looks like I was right. Shigure! What's up?!
Shigure: Shiro?! What are you doing out here? Ah! Oh no! Wait!
Shiro: Wah! I freaked them out again... Jeez, sorry about that.
Shigure: Don't worry about it. They aren't used to other people being around here. It's easy to startle them.
Shiro: Hmm, I understand... It sure is impressive how you've tamed all these wild animals. Even though we have the same parents, we sure are different. I can only scare them away!
Shigure: Why were you looking for me again? Did you need something?
Shiro: Well, like I was telling you the other day, I'd really like to know you better. Since we're siblings and all.
Shigure: Hmm, I see... Listen, I'm sorry for being cold the other day. The truth is, it makes me happy that you care so much. I'm your brother, and I really don't want to let you down.
Shiro: You mean it? I can stay here with you? Why don't you call back all the animals?
Shigure: Honestly, I don't think they'll want to come back while you're here.
Shiro: R-really? Why not? They seem so fond of you, though. If I work super hard, do you think they will be my friends too? Please, tell me how you did it.
Shigure: Hmm... I'm not sure if this will help, but... Animals are highly attuned to the feelings of people around them. Most likely, they detected something in you that drove them off.
Shiro: Oh come on, I wouldn't have any animosity toward a bunch of fluffy animals.
Shigure: They can sense what you were thinking. Were you sizing them up to figure out which one might make a tasty dinner? Even just for a moment?
Shiro: Shigure, stop trying to make fun of me. I would never think that.
Shigure: Of course, I'm sorry. That's just the biggest reason I could think of for them to run away. I appreciate how sincere you are about befriending them. I'll try to think of what can be done to make them feel safe around you. I would be delighted to help out my cherished brother.
Shiro: I'm counting on you!

A Support

Shiro: Hey, Shigure...
Shigure: What's wrong, Shiro? You look troubled.
Shiro: I've been wanting to talk about the animals with you...
Shigure: Oh? Did you want to pay them a visit? I was just about to head in that direction if you want to come along. Are you ready to prove that you don't mean them any harm?
Shiro: No, actually I've been thinking about why they ran away from me in the first place. I realized that I was feeling upset when I first met them.
Shigure: What do you mean?
Shiro: This is embarrassing to admit... But I envied the animals because they got along so well with you. In that moment, I wanted them to leave so we could spend time together. That's probably what they detected. I was acting mean and selfish... I feel like a terrible person...
Shigure: Shiro, I'm glad you thought about this and talked to me.
Shiro: The point is, I'm not going out there anymore. I don't want to bug them. I'm sorry that I made such a fuss about everything.
Shigure: Don't say that! You should absolutely go back. By opening up, you've changed, and the animals will be able to tell. I think they'll be more welcoming.
Shiro: Huh? I'm not sure...
Shigure: Well I am. You didn't have to say that you were feeling jealous, but you did anyway. That tells me that you've got a good soul inside of you. They'll be able to see that, too. Look! There's a rabbit coming this way!
Shiro: Wh-whoa!! Wait, what do I do?
Shigure: Just calm down... Relax, and take a breath. Quiet your mind and be peaceful... Just think about how you want to be friends with the furry critter.
Shiro: Y-yeah, sure, OK. He's letting me pet him! Wow! Aren't you a good boy. Aww, look at his cute little eyes!
Shigure: See? I told you it would all be fine.
Shiro: Yeah. You were totally right!
Shigure: Now you can meet all of the other animals! I think you will get along with everyone. Let's wander to the clearing in the woods— I bet your new friends will be waiting there.
Shiro: Sure! Lead the way, Shigure!
