“ | No. You and your friends have clearly known these evils and more. I'm at fault for being a child too long. My eyes have been closed. But my heart has been opened. I can imagine, a little, what it must feel like to live in your world. Still you find it in yourself to sing. And so must I. | ” | — Shigure, to Azura. |

Main game
Heirs of Fate DLC
Shigure is walking alone through the world of Valla, singing "Lost In Thoughts, All Alone" to himself at the end of each chapter of the Heirs of Fate DLC. At the end of Heirs of Fate III, Shigure comes in contact with his mother, Azura, who mentions that Shigure looks like the first king of Valla, Cadros. After, Azura sings the final portion of "Lost in Thoughts, All Alone" to Shigure, to which she states is the most powerful part of the song, which may make Shigure disappear like bubbles on the surface of water.

Fire Emblem Heroes
Role
There are two different variations of Shigure available to Heroes, all based on his storyline appearance in Fates. The normal variation of Shigure was added to the game in the Rite of Frost update, and became available for summoning by players on April 24, 2018. A performing-arts variation of Shigure was made available between the period of September 29, 2017 through October 30, 2017 in a special performing-arts variation as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of the Performing Arts update, the update where this variation was added to the game. Shigure is one of two characters to date who had a special variation made available to players before their normal variation in which the normal variation has actually been added to the game, the other being Xander.

Trivia
- Due to Azura being the only non-avatar female fixed parent in Fates, Shigure is the only child character in Fates who will always have a sibling regardless of who his mother marries.
- Shigure shares many similarities with Lucina from Fire Emblem Awakening.
- Shigure is one of two children in Fates who is tied to the mother instead of the father, while Lucina is one of the two children in Awakening who is tied to the father instead of the mother.
- Both will always have blue hair regardless of the "variable" parent.
- Strangely enough, Shigure's Private Quarters model has his hair with a color palette, but only Azura's hair color is used in-game. If the player were to hack the game, they could have Shigure's Private Quarters model with any hair color. It's worth noting that Shigure's portrait used in-game is always blue.
- Both will nearly always have a sibling; the only exception to this is if Chrom marries the village maiden.
- Both use lances in their default class once promoted, though Lucina is initially locked to swords as a Lord.
- Both are children to royalty, and as such they will always be royalty regardless of the "variable" parent.
- Shigure's portrait in the Heirs of Fate DLC is altered to have Azura's pendant, as revealed in the plot that Azura gave the pendant to Shigure.
- Additionally, Azura's portrait doesn't have her pendant.
- Not counting Inigo, who appears in the game under the guise of Laslow, Shigure is the second character in Fire Emblem Heroes to appear as an event exclusive unit before having their regular version added to the game, with the first being Charlotte.
