The Shaman (Japanese: シャーマン Shaman) is a magical class which was introduced in FE2 and has played varying roles throughout the series. In its original appearance in Gaiden as well as in its remake, Echoes:  Shadows of Valentia, Shamans are an enemy exclusive class which fights with both black and white magic, and they have near-exclusive access to the Messiah spell which allows them to summon monsters to assist them in battle.
The Shaman (Japanese: シャーマン Shaman) is a magical class which was introduced in FE6. They appear as an offensive magical class available to any gender which only wields dark magic. These Shamans are a precursor to the modern Dark Mage class and, like Dark Mages, are a stark contrast to the nimble Mages: they have fearsome magical offense further enhanced by the raw power of dark tomes, but in exchange they have low base speed and are weighed down even more by their heavy tomes. Their defenses are also slightly better than those of ordinary Mages, but are still mediocre which, combined with how easy it is to follow-up attack Shamans, leaves them better equipped to attack at range from behind the front lines. Shamans promote to the Druid class, and in The Sacred Stones, they also have the option to promote to Summoner instead.

In FE4, Shamans are a female-exclusive class which wields light magic and staves. While they are very frail, they possess the high magic and resistance of traditional healers, giving them good healing proficiency as well as the ability to defend themselves, particularly with Nosferatu. Aside from Deirdre, who is unable to promote, Shamans promote to the Sage class. While Shamans do not technically exist in the following game, FE5, that game has the virtually identical Cleric class.

The Shaman's final appearance prior to Echoes is in the three Game Boy Advance games, where it is an offensive magical class available to any gender which only wields dark magic. Their defenses are also slightly better than those of ordinary Mages, but are still mediocre which, combined with how easy it is to double-attack Shamans, leaves them better equipped to attack at range from behind the front lines. Shamans promote to the Druid class, and in The Sacred Stones, they also have the option to promote to Summoner instead.

The Shaman (Japanese: シャーマン Shaman) is a magical class which was introduced in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade.

Shaman

A shaman is a practitioner of a traditional shamanistic religion in numerous parts of the world, who acts as a bridge between the real world and the world of spirits. Shamans are also often faith healers. The word "shaman" originally specifically referred to a priest of the Ural-Altaic peoples and is derived from the Tungus сама̄н samān, allegedly from the Chinese 沙門 shāmén and the Sanskrit श्रमण śramaṇá meaning Buddhist monk.[1]

Japanese

シャーマン

Officially romanized as Shaman. The class is known by this name in all games since The Binding Blade.
