Fire Emblem Cipher

Role

Shade's portrait in the Fire Emblem 0 (Cipher) column

While simply a trading card character, she, alongside Emma, serves as an introductory character on the Fire Emblem Cipher website. They are both characters made for the trading card game itself. They both have their own column on the site where they discuss various aspects and events concerning the development of the trading card game, with the first one being an introduction to the new TCG as a whole. Six other characters have since joined the column, for a grand total of eight to date.

While she is from Nohr, she does not make any appearances in any of Fire Emblem Fates's various campaigns or downloadable content at the time of writing.

Shade is featured on fourteen cards in Fire Emblem Cipher. Additionally, she has been featured on three April Fools' prank cards. This combination ties Shade with Emma for the most total cards to date of any of Cipher's mascots, having one less actual card but one more prank card.

One of the below cards' epithets is still in raw, untranslated Japanese; it needs translation.

Shade's primary interactions are shown through the previously-mentioned column on the Fire Emblem 0 (Cipher) website. In her interactions with Emma she is shown to be knowledgeable and calm. She is also somewhat mischievous, as she locks Emma in the room with her when teaching her how to play the Cipher trading card game.

Endings

Echoes: Shadows of Valentia

After the war, Shade departed Valentia for a new land. History makes no further mention of her, but some say she went on to master a plethora of magic and staves, bequeathing this wealth of knowledge to a new generation through strict—yet kind—teaching.

Cipher

Veteran mage that she is, Shade continues to teach the next generation. Many seeking to become almighty Cipher players have come to her, only to struggle bitterly under her tutelage - yet at the same time, to Emma and the others, she remains a nurturing guiding hand.
