Say'ri took the Shepherds to the Demon's Ingle, where they battled Yen'fay. If Say'ri battles Yen'fay, she will try to reason with him on why he betrayed Chon'sin, but he refuses to answer. Once he is defeated, Yen'fay will commend Say'ri for growing strong just before dying, much to Say'ri's grief. Excellus later explains to her that he only fought to protect her; having arranged a deal where Excellus would manipulate Walharts forces so Say'ri may yet live.

In Paralogue 21, an alternate version of Say'ri died, leaving that Outrealm's Yen'fay despondent. He traveled to the main Outrealm for unknown reasons. Upon seeing the alternate Yen'fay, Say'ri is overjoyed to see her brother again, but Yen'fay reminds her that while they are not true siblings, they can still be together.

Say'ri is one of the characters added to the game in the "Book IV Midpoint"<!--its chapter, if it has one, did not have its name revealed--> update, and became available for summoning by players on June 5, 2020. Only one variation of Say'ri is currently available in Heroes, based on her Awakening incarnation. Say'ri is the first character to initially utilize the same voicework (as performed by Seiko Yoshida) in both the Japanese and English versions of the game, although she will not have the same voicework in both Japanese and English on a permanent basis; she is planned to receive distinct English voicework at an unspecified later date, at which point she will likely become the first character whose initial Japanese and English voicework were not implemented simultaneously<!--No, male Byleth does not count--he had initial Japanese and English voicework implemented simultaneously, his newer English voicework is a replacement and not an initial implementation-->.
Two versions of Say'ri are present in Heroes. The normal variation of Say'ri is one of the characters added to the game in the Wallowing in Love update, and became available for summoning by players on June 5, 2020. Only one variation of Say'ri is currently available in Heroes, based on her Awakening incarnation. A bridal variation of Say'ri was added in the Bridal Dreams update, and was first available to summon from May 19, 2023.

Say'ri is the first character to initially utilize the same voicework (performed by Seiko Yoshida) in both the Japanese and English versions of the game; she received English voicework in the version 4.8.0 update and became the first character whose initial Japanese and English voicework were not implemented simultaneously.

He tries, but we Resistance are a slippery lot. We strike hard and then vanish again into the dark of night. Even now rebels ride to the banner of dynasts across the continent. United, we could pose a veritable threat to Walhart. And so, for some time I have struggled to bring us together.
— Say'ri, discussing her leadership of the Resistance with Chrom

Say'ri (pronounced /ˈseɪɹi/[key][1], Japanese: サイリ Sayri) is a character in Fire Emblem Awakening. Along with her brother, Yen'fay, she is the princess of Chon'sin, a small nation on the western continent of Valm. She is forced to flee from her country after it is taken over by Walhart.

Fire Emblem Awakening

Role

Say'ri is the sister of Chon'sin's former ruler, Yen'fay. He betrayed Chon'sin to side with Walhart in order to protect her, but he never told her this. Say'ri was eventually hunted down by Walhart's forces, forcing her to flee from Chon'sin, until she was cornered in Valm Harbor. She was eventually rescued by Chrom, leader of the Shepherds. Say'ri brought them to the Mila Tree in order to get Tiki's advice about the Fire Emblem, but they were ambushed by a Valmese army led by Cervantes. After defeating them, Tiki met with the group and tasked them to find the Emblem's missing gemstones.

Say'ri accompanied the Shepherds in the rebellion against Walhart, and the subsequent battles against Grima and the Grimleal.

Fire Emblem Heroes

Role

Personality

Say'ri is a calm, dignified princess of the Chon'sin dynasty, whose old-fashion speech and manners sharply contrast with those of the Ylisseans. She seeks to unite various rebel groups throughout Valm against Walhart.

Say'ri held great contempt for her brother's actions in aligning with Walhart and aiding in his conquest of Valm. When she realized he had only done so after coming to an agreement with Excellus to protect her, her wrath evaporated, leaving only regret.

Supports

Endings

Say'ri, Blade Princess (single ending)
After returning to Chon'sin, Say'ri worked tirelessly with the other dynasts to secure a peaceful future for the Valmese continent. She was occasionally seen visiting her brother Yen'fay's grave.

Robin, High Deliver & Say'ri, Blade Princess
Many wrote of Robin's legendary exploits, but accounts of his origins and character varied. Scholars, poets, and bards agreed on one thing alone—he loved his wife, Say'ri, above all else.

Here she is, standing tall and proud, with her steely gaze fixed on the future! Allow me to introduce you to Say’ri, the princess of Chon’sin who walks the path of the swordmaster! Chon’sin is a land far to the west of Ylisse, so there was never much contact between the two. It’s an exotic place with a culture and way of life that are quite distinct from those of Ylisse. However, her kingdom was conquered by the Empire of Valm, robbing Say’ri of her home, and to make things worse, her brother Yen’fay joined the enemy forces! With Chrom and other warriors from Ylisse at her side, Say’ri challenged Valm. After defeating Yen’fay in battle, she took the future into her own hands!
