Guardian (Japanese: ガードナイト Guard knight) is an class that started appearing in TearRing Saga Series: Berwick Saga. In all appearances, it is a low movement knight type class with defensive stats and some sort of connection to armored class lines.
In TearRing Saga Series: Berwick Saga, the Guardian is a stand-alone sword using class with high defensive stats, though their defense tends to be lower than pure armored classes like Armor Knights. Guardians are the only class capable of using large shields to not be in the heavy armor category. Despite the class having 4 base movement, most Guardian units have the Slow skill, reducing their movement to 3 like armored units. The playable Guardian character, however, can lose this skill if he reaches level 14.
In Vestaria Saga I, the guardian is a low-movement unpromoted class with very high defense. This class can be promoted to Grand Guard or Royal Guard; the latter only in Vestaria Saga II: The Sacred Sword of Silvanister. They can use standard and throwing spears; in the Vestaria Saga II, they can also use swords or axes depending on the individual unit.
