The Ridersbane, also known as the Horseslayer or Knight Killer (Japanese: ナイトキラー Knight Killer or ホースキラー Horse Killer), is a lance which was introduced in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light. It is designed to fight units fighting on horseback, and is very effective against Cavaliers, Paladins, Troubadours, and similar classes. However, it usually has relatively high weight compared to its relatively weak damage output, and so it slows down its wielder significantly. Although it appears in all games in the series except Awakening and Fates, those two games replace it with the Beast Killer.
