Appearance(s)

Randolph von Bergliez[3] (pronounced /'ɹændɑlf vɑn 'bɝgliz/[key]; Japanese: ランドルフ=フォン=ベルグリーズ Randolph von Bergliez) is a non-playable character appearing in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. He is a low-ranking general in the Adrestian army and the brother of Fleche.

Biography

Randolph is a recently promoted general in the Adrestian army, fights in the Battle of Garreg Mach on Adrestia's side, and continues to serve Adrestia for the next five years. On the Crimson Flower route, when Byleth returns from their five-year coma, Randolph defends Garreg Mach Monastery while Byleth and Edelgard fight on the front lines. When the Knights of Seiros attack the monastery in an attempt to recapture it, Randolph is mortally wounded defending the monastery from forces led by Rhea and Catherine and perishes in Edelgard's arms. On all other routes, Randolph is patrolling the Garreg Mach region when he hears that the monastery has been appropriated as a base of operations by Byleth and their allies. Randolph besieges the monastery, but is defeated. On the Verdant Wind and Silver Snow routes, he is simply slain in battle; on the Azure Moon route, he is captured alive by Dimitri. Dimitri mocks his justifications for the deaths he has caused during his military career and threatens to horrifically torture him, but Byleth executes him before he can go that far. His death causes Fleche to swear revenge on Dimitri.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Role

Randolph is an NPC ally in one chapter on the Crimson Flower route and an enemy in two chapters on all other routes. On the Crimson Flower route, from Chapter 12 to his plot-mandated death at the end of Chapter 15 he can be interacted with at the player's home base.
