Appearance(s)

Leif...? So... You're Prince Leif, eh? This is perfect. My name's Ralf, I'm a mercenary. Would it be all right if I joined your army?
— Ralf to Leif in Chapter 15: The Two Paths

Ralf (Japanese: ラルフ Ralf) is a minor playable character appearing in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. He is a mercenary working to defend a remote village in the mountains from bandit raids. He also dislikes the Grannvale Empire and its presence in Thracia.

Fire Emblem: Thracia 776

Role

Ralf initially appears as an NPC unit in Chapter 15. During the chapter he defends a mountain village from a bandit raid; he is assisted by the reluctant Friege knight Amalda. When Amalda notices Leif's forces she leaves Ralf to defend by himself, content that reinforcements have arrived to assist him.

After the bandits are defeated, Ralf accompanies Leif's liberation army until at least the liberation of Manster. His involvement, if any, with the war after Leif's forces merged with Seliph's is unknown, as he does not appear in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War.

Personality and character

Ralf has very little dialogue for a playable character. Regardless, he is shown to be a generous individual; he works to defend a village in the mountains from roaming brigands; he does so only in exchange for somewhere to sleep.[2] He is unwilling to accept pay from the villagers as they already have virtually nothing.[3] When Leif's forces arrive during Chapter 15 and assist him in defeating the bandits he offers to join Leif's cause purely to fight against the Grannvale empire.[4]
