Prologue I/Script
Long ago, Medeus founded the empire of Dolhr and conquered the continent of Archanea. He was deposed and defeated by Anri, a young hero who wielded the sacred blade Falchion. Archanea enjoyed a century of peace, until Medeus returned. He allied with the evil sorcerer Gharnef, and the two laid waste to the realm. King Cornelius of Altea set out to defeat Medeus, while his son Marth, daughter Elice, and wife Liza remained behind with a garrison manned by Altea's ally Gra.
Elice summons Marth to discuss an incident with their forces in Gra. As he heads to the throne to meet her, he is attacked by Gra soldiers. Confused but undaunted, Marth fights his way to the throne room. After Marth clears out his would-be assassins, Elice arrives and explains that Cornelius was defeated by Dolhr and Grust after Gra betrayed him; his status remains unknown. Gra is attacking the castle, and Elice and Liza have been separated. Elice orders Marth to find Jagen and flee, promising that she will find Liza and follow.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
As the first tutorial level, this chapter is very straightforward. Once you pass the bottleneck at the bottom of the map, the enemies will arrive, but none of them are a match for Marth. It is mathematically nearly impossible for Marth to die, which will only realistically be achieved by disarming Marth and intentionally dying. Once you pass the bottleneck at the top of the map, the last Soldier will move onto the throne, but he will pose no threat to you. The only relevant tip to provide is to use Marth's Iron Sword for combat in the early levels and save his Rapier for more powerful foes, particularly bosses in later chapters such as Camus.
Trivia
- While the chapter is called "Prologue I" in most parts of the game, the chapter intro image says "Prologue 1".
