Marth's group arrives in Port Warren and takes time to recuperate from their recent battles. However, Grustian forces attack the port. With the aid of hired swordsmen Caesar and Radd, Marth battles his way to the eastern fortress. Caeda also seduces a Grustian knight named Roger into defecting. Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
New Recruits:
- Caesar & Radd: Low-tier swordsmen. Outclassed by Cain, Ogma, Navarre, and Athena.
- Roger: Lacks the prowess of General Wolf, Sedgar, and even a well-trained Draug.
Market & Supplies:
- A unique market is located at the chapter's start. It's a prime location to replenish supplies.
- Take advantage of the first opportunity to buy Vulneraries!
- Make sure to buy a Rapier and a Wing Spear, as they're rare commodities.
Battle Strategy:
- Warp Tactic: Equip General Wolf or Sedgar with a Javelin and a Vulnerary. Use Warp to send them to the northwestern forts immediately. Their inherent defense allows them to quickly gain experience by dispatching enemy cavalry.
- Main Army Movement: Progress your primary forces northeast. This area generally presents minimal threats.
Caution Points:
- Don't overlook recruiting Roger with Caeda.
- Be on guard for reinforcements triggered upon nearing the valley forts.
- Use the arena judiciously.
Trivia
- In Mystery of the Emblem, there is one pirate labeled "Pyrathi". As The Pyrathi Dragon was removed, this is the only enemy in the game with this label.
- In Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light and Mystery of the Emblem, Port Warren is located on the south-east of the Archanea continent, but in Shadow Dragon it is located on the same peninsula as Galder Harbor. This is due to Shadow Dragon using the world map from the Mystery of the Emblem guide, where Port Warren is in the same area. This creates a minor inconsistency when Marth is forced to flee to Pyrathi at the end of the chapter; Marth is suggested to have crossed a bridge to reach Pyrathi in the original, whereas he is shown crossing the ocean in the remake—if Marth had access to a boat to flee Port Warren, he could have sailed somewhere other than Pyrathi and avoided a confrontation with Mannu.
