Pirate Ship (Japanese: 海賊船 Pirate Ship) is chapter 17 of Eliwood's Tale and chapter 18 of Hector's Tale in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade.

Plot

Eliwood, Hector, and Lyn have secured a method of transportation to Dread Isle on Fargus’s ship. As they draw closer to their destination, Eliwood asks Fargus why he agreed to take their company to Dread Isle. Fargus replies that he has been seeking a challenge and Eliwood’s company presented the most interesting one he had seen in years. Fargus also expresses confidence in Eliwood’s ability to be the first to visit Dread Isle and live to tell the tale and promises that he will weigh anchor for Eliwood and pick his group up when they are ready to leave.

Meanwhile, Lyn is standing on the deck near the bow of the ship, alone. Hector comes to the deck looking for Eliwood but finds Lyn, who is clearly uncomfortable with receiving aid from the pirates. Hector tells Lyn again that there is no other way for them to reach Dread Isle, a statement that clearly irks Lyn. Hector again tries to calm her down by telling her that the pirates do not seem like bad people and that she should not allow the murder of parents to color her perception of the pirates.

Lyn then reveals in gruesome detail how her tribe was killed. The bandits poisoned the tribe’s drinking water and then attacked while everyone was rendered defenseless by the poison’s effects. The last she saw of her father was his arms shaking from the poison as he lifted her onto a horse and sent her off to safety. Lyn was rescued by another tribe and awoke ten days after the attack. By that time, the dead had already been buried, denying her the chance to say farewell in any capacity. Hector, in turn, shares how he lost his parents to illness and his sorrow in having to hide his tears from the public and the others within Castle Ostia. Later, when he was alone, he wanted to do nothing but cry but found himself unable to shed a single tear.

After Lyn and Hector’s heart-to-heart, the pirates find a small dory with a lone girl on top set adrift in the sea. They pull the dory on board to discover that the girl on it was Ninian. Eliwood and Lyn wake Ninian and ask her why she was on the dory and about Nils whereabouts; however, Ninian is too slow to respond as the arrival of other pirate ships cuts her off. The unknown ships quickly manage to catch up to Fargus’s ship and cause a breach in the hull. Fargus, at the behest of the three lords, decides to help his crew fix the breach and leaves the task of defending the ship to Eliwood’s company.

The three lords manage to defend long enough for Fargus to fix the ship, enabling him and his crew to take care of what remains of the enemy. After the enemies are dealt with, Ninian comes out to the deck. Eliwood finds out that Ninian has lost her memories when she fails to respond to her name and cannot answer as to why she was adrift at sea. Eliwood, Lyn, and Hector decide to take Ninian along to the Dread Isle to protect her from further attacks from the Black Fang and because Fargus’s men believe she is cursed and refuse to keep her on board for longer than necessary.

The three lords finally set foot on Dread Isle. Before they begin to explore the island in search of the Dragon’s Gate, Fargus makes Dart accompany them and informs the group that he will wait for two weeks for their return. As Fargus departs, Lyn remarks that there are good people, even among pirates.

Eliwood’s father is on the isle, as is the Dragon's Gate. As they draw closer to the isle, Eliwood no longer fears that his father might be one of the conspirators. As the moment of truth nears, Eliwood only prays that he is safe.

Eliwood's Tale (If Chapter 16x was skipped): After speaking with the Ostian spy Leila, Eliwood realizes he must travel to Valor, the Dread Isle. They head straight to the port city of Badon seeking passage. After a long journey, they spot a fog-enshrouded isle on the horizon. Eliwood’s father is on the isle, as is the Dragon’s Gate. As they draw closer to the isle, Eliwood no longer fears that Elbert|his father might be one of the conspirators. As the moment of truth nears, Eliwood only prays that he is safe.

Hector's Tale (If Chapter 17x was not skipped): Fargus’s ship sails along smoothly. At last, they spot a fog-enshrouded isle on the horizon. According to Leila’s information, the enemy is gathering there. Darin, the marquess of Laus, the Black Fang assassins, the mysterious Nergal, and his henchman, Ephidel. As the island draws closer, Hector hears death whispering on the wind.
