Outlaw
| ||||||
|
The Outlaw (Japanese: シーフ Thief) is a basic class debuting in Fire Emblem Fates. It is highly similar in purpose to the Thieves of earlier entries in the Fire Emblem series, as a class with the ability to pick open locks and chests; however, unlike Thieves, the Outlaw's weapon of choice is the bow, instead of the sword.
Outlaws possess high speed, and unusually high magical resistance for a primarily physical-based class. Being locked to bows makes their low defense less of a concern than for the Thief, if the Outlaw triggers battle, but leaves them more vulnerable if they are attacked at close range. The Outlaw's primary function, however, does not lie in combat, but rather in their lock-picking ability, and units in this class should generally be more concerned with finding and unlocking the nearest chest or door, than defeating the nearest enemy.
Outlaws may promote to either Bow Knights, or Adventurers.
