Onager

The Onager (Japanese: 投石器 Onager) is a model of ballista which was introduced in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and is later appears in Radiant Dawn and Three Houses. Onagers are found stationed as objects on certain maps throughout the games, and in maps where they are found can be ridden and used by any Archer, Sniper and Marksman belonging to any army, or, in Three Houses, any non-mounted unit that does not wield magic. Onagers are fixed to a specific tile and cannot be moved. Once the Onager's durability reaches 0, the map object does not disappear and can still be ridden, but is unable to attack owing to its lack of ammunition.
The Onager has the ability to hit more than one target at once; while the player selects one specific target, the Onager's shot will also hit every other unit neighboring the target for half the damage. The Onager has by far the highest hit rate of any weapon in the series, surpassing its closest competitor by 55 points, but conversely cannot inflict critical hits. It also has more might than a regular Ballista, but is still the second-weakest siege engine in both games.
The Onager is the only non-Archanean ballista to be depicted as something other than a giant bow; in Onager's case, it is depicted as a catapult, along the lines of the Archanean Stonehoist. Due to this depiction, the Onager is the only non-Archanean ballista that does not inflict bonus damage on flying units.

Onager |
An onager is a catapult-type siege engine of ancient Roman origin which fires stones as projectiles using a sling-like mechanism. It derives its name from the onager, a donkey species native to central Asia, as the siege engine's "kicking" motion was thought to resemble that of the donkey species. |
