Ogma

Artwork of Ogma from the TCG.
|
|
|
Ogma (オグマ, Oguma) is the leader of the mercenary warriors in the service of Talys. Originally a gladiator enslaved in Knorda's arena, he participated in a mass escape attempt, letting himself be captured so that everyone else, including Samto, could escape; he was to be disciplined but was found by Princess Caeda, who instead recruited him into the Talys army. He is deployed by King Mostyn as Caeda's personal guard when she leaves with Marth in the War of Shadows. Three years later, Mostyn dispatches him to Grust to assist Lorenz in protecting the country's royal children, Yubello and Yumina, from Archanean forces.
Role
When Marth arrives at Galder Harbor, Ogma is there with his subordinates Barst, Bord and Cord, dispatched to join Marth's forces and act as Caeda's bodyguards by King Mostyn. Ogma warns him of the approach of knights of Grust.

- In Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, promotion gains consist on giving the character as many points as necessary -the "x" value shown in the table- to reach the promoted class' base stats. If the character's stats are higher than their promoted class' base stats, they will not receive any bonus.

Book 2
Role
King Mostyn had deployed Ogma to Grust to serve under his old friend General Lorenz in protecting Grust's royal heirs, Yubello and Yumina, from Lang's oppressive rule. When the tide turns against Grust, Lorenz tries to have Ogma take the children away to Macedon to protect them, but when they refuse, Ogma instead departs alone, swearing to kill Lang. After Lorenz's death, the children are taken away by Lang; Ogma soon attacks Lang's headquarters at Castle Olbern and rescues the two, escaping with them to Macedon, where they are cornered at Holm Beach by a pirate group, saved only by the arrival of Sirius and Marth's forces.
From there, Ogma and the children join Marth's army. At the battle of Castle Olbern, Ogma encounters Samto, whom everyone (including his employer Lang) have mistaken for Navarre. In order to repay Ogma for allowing him to escape the Knorda slave market, Samto joins Marth's army.

Anime
Ogma plays a prominent role in the Fire Emblem, here called Oguma. During the fight in Talys, when Marth and Caeda are cornered by Gazzak, he arrives with his troupe and engages Gazzak in a duel, killing him with a single stroke. He participated in the liberation of Galder Harbor, and a discussion with Caeda on her concerns about a Galder resident flirting with Marth prompts him to remember the day a young Caeda found him being whipped in Knorda after helping other gladiators escape, and recruited him into the service of Talys.
During the fight with the Soothsires, Ogma encounters Navarre and, being familiar with the legends surrounding the man, engages him in a duel. The two wound each other slightly, but the fight is broken up by Caeda, who convinces Navarre to ally with Marth's forces.
