In 1963, Hiroshi Yamauchi renamed the company from Nintendo Playing Card Co. Ltd. to just Nintendo Co., Ltd. and began changing industries to such things as a taxi company, a love hotel chain, a TV network, and a food company. About three years after the company name was changed, Nintendo became a video game developer.[2] Nintendo is the owner of Intelligent Systems, and the publisher of the Fire Emblem series of video games.
