Nader (pronounced /nəˈdɛɹ/[key]; Japanese: ナデル Nader) is a character appearing in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. He is an Almyran general and an old combat instructor of Claude's. He adopted the pseudonym Nardel (pronounced /nɑɹˈdɛl/[key]; Japanese: ナルデール Nardel) while operating within the Leicester Alliance.
Biography
On the Verdant Wind route, Nader is first mentioned during Part II by Judith under the the pseudonym "Nardel", as a retainer Claude left behind back in Alliance territory when he went back to Garreg Mach Monastery to reunite with the Golden Deer there. After taking back the Great Bridge of Myrddin, "Nardel" meets Byleth and thanks them for the support they've provided to his liege. His final appearance happens when the Alliance forces infiltrate Fort Merceus, as Claude summons Almyran reinforcements as a ploy to have both sides team up against a common enemy and form a friendship, with Nader himself leading the Almyran soldiers. Once Fort Merceus is destroyed by a "javelin of light", Nader quickly panics and runs away, as Judith finally realizes who he is and speculates his moniker of "The Undefeated" might actually come from escaping every time he was about to lose a fight.
On the Crimson Flower route, Nader shows up alongside an Almyran fleet to support Claude and the Alliance's army during the Adrestian invasion of Derdriu, only to end up bested in the process and forced to retreat. He later appears again in the paralogue Insurmountable, where he is seen leading the Almyran forces trying to get past Fódlan's Throat, only to be defeated and forced to escape yet again by Edelgard's army.
Nader makes no appearances on the Silver Snow or Azure Moon routes.
