Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Meg is a sword-wielding armor knight that joins in chapter 1-4. She has poor mobility due to being a knight, and faces heavy terrain penalties (especially ledges) severely limiting her strategic options. She has poor to average bases all around. Her defense base is average, though her health base is low so she cannot tank at base. She wields the weakest weapon type and has an average strength and mediocre speed base, so she struggles to deal damage and cannot double. To feasibly contribute in part 1, she needs significant investment and forges to keep up or else she will get one-rounded by most enemy units, especially on hard mode.
Meg has high growths in speed, luck, and resistance. Her base speed is low so it will take most of part 1 for her speed growth to kick in and let her double attack. Her high resistance growth is limited by her low resistance cap so she cannot tank magic; however, she can abuse BEXP to fix her weaker strength, skill, and defense. BEXPing Meg immediately can help her base speed and avoid being doubled, but she will rarely gain strength and defense, so she will additional need several combat levels. Her skill is also low, though she will not struggle as much with hitrates due to high luck and swords.
Her part 3 chapters are primarily defensive chapters and she is not physically bulky. They also have ledges and swamps, limiting her mobility further. In tier 2, Meg will cap speed and luck quickly so she can abuse BEXP to help her strength, skill, and defense. She can start using lances, though her E lance rank limits her to bronze and iron lances, and she cannot use javelins. If fully raised, Meg can contribute in part 4's rout chapters. She functions best on Ike's team due to lack of swamp or desert. She can also use axes in tier 3; though her axe rank will be low, she can use forged Hand Axes for stronger 1-2 range combat. She can use the Storm Sword or Tempest Blade if the player raised her sword rank throughout the game. Her poor mobility and stat caps in speed and resistance limit Meg from being an efficient endgame unit.
Meg has innate Fortune which prevents enemies from landing crits on her. This is a useful skill for her early on, but is an unnecessary skill after her high luck growth kicks in, so it is best either sold for an early 3000 gold, or used on a different front-line unit with lower luck like Aran. She is a decent candidate for Adept and Resolve due to her high speed growth, though in endgame her low speed cap makes these less useful.
Meg has a heaven affinity which improves hit rates. Given Meg has poor skill, this can be a useful affinity for her in part 1. Units with affinities that boost her defense or avoid and appreciate extra accuracy are good support partners. Nolan is an axe user with an earth affinity but he prefers to partner with other units with earth affinities. Jill is another unit with useful thunder bonuses, though Jill has much higher mobility than Meg.
Personality and character
Meg is generally happy and hardworking, although rather shy towards strangers. She is also rather strong, with the same build as her father, Brom.
