(Japanese: マスターナイト Master Knight) is an advanced mounted class exclusive to Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. Almost unique among classes, it possesses access to almost every weapon type in the game, lacking only the enemy-exclusive dark magic. The class is rare with only two potentially playable members, requiring changing class from unmounted classes with comparatively weak initial starting points (Prince and Princess); this counterbalances its possession of some of the highest base and maximum stats of any playable class in the game, in addition to its wide weapon range. In theory, the class is a balanced class in respect to its use of both physical weapons and magic; however, in practice its statistical layout leans more in favour of the physical, and all possible members of the class are physically oriented.
