Biography
Role
When she was a child, as she was away from her father Galzus, Mareeta was abdutced by a slave trader. She was saved by Eyvel, who adopted her and brought her to Fiana.
Mareeta and Nanna appear during the opening of Chapter 1: The Warrior of Fiana being abducted by Raydrik. Her abduction spurs Leif and Eyvel to journey to Munster to rescue the pair.

A while later, during Chapter 5: Mother and Daughter, Mareeta is seen again in Munster during Leif's escape of the castle. Nanna and Eyvel are trapped in a large open room with several enemy combatants. Raydrik tells Eyvel that she may see her daughter again if the opponents are defeated. After Eyvel defeats the opponents, Raydrik lets Mareeta into the ring. Unfortunately, Mareeta is under the control of a cursed sword and attacks Eyvel. It is possible, though unlikely, for Mareeta to die here; this will only occur if the player forces Eyvel to attack Mareeta. Once Leif opens the entrance to the arena, Veld and Raydrik, who were spectating the fighting, leave the area, taking Mareeta and a now petrified Eyvel with them.
Years later, as Prince Leif of Leonster was hiding in Fiana, Raydrik came to the village in his pursuit. However, as Leif was away, Raydrik decided to take Mareeta and Nanna hostage and brought them to Munster. There, Raydrik gave Mareeta the Shadow Sword, corrupting her. He then forced the now-brainwashed Mareeta to fight Eyvel. However, Mareeta's memory of Eyvel made her unable to fiht at full power. Annoyed, Raydrik stopped the battle and had Eyvel petrified. Mareeta was then taken away in secret by Galzus, who gave her to bishop Saias to heal her. Saias brought Mareeta to Dacia Forest, where he was able to heal her from her corruption, and gave her the now purified Shadow Sword, [Mareeta's Sword]]. As bandits attacked the house she was in, Mareeta decided to fight them. In a turn of good fortune, Leif's forces happened to be in the area, and she rejoined with them. During her travel, she meet with Shannam, an imposter of Prince Shannan of Isaach; following his advice, she was able to master the power of Astra.

During Chapter 6: The Escape Galzus, working as a mercenary in Munster, rescues Mareeta from Raydrik and hands her over to Saias. Galzus asks the bishop to heal her, and denies knowing her when asked.
Around a year later, Leif's forces came back to Munster. Here, she rekognized Galzus as her father, and convinced him to join them in their fight against Raydrik. Then, she reunited with Eyvel, now freed from her petrification.

Several chapters later, during Chapter 12: The Thieves of Dakia, Mareeta has been saved from the curse by Saias. Saias gives her the Shadow Sword, now purified and named Mareeta's Sword, and reassures her that it wasn't her fault for attacking Eyvel and that she should move on. After Saias's departure, bandits happen upon the house and woman she was left in, and she goes out to drive them off. In a turn of good fortune, Leif's forces happen to be in the area and she rejoins with them at this point.
FE5
Role
If Eyvel is rescued during Chapter 24x: The Lopt Altar the pair reunite and Mareeta tells the disoriented Eyvel that she has been petrified and that Raydrik was defeated.
Mareeta is a playable character. In Chapter&nbsp;5, Mareeta appears as an enemy unit; she appears in the arena after the eastern corridor has been entered, or Eyvel defeats an enemy in the arena. Due to a mutual support, Mareeta and Eyvel can't counterattack each other. Once Eyvel has been captured, or the door to the arena is opened, Mareeta will leave the map. In Chapter&nbsp;12, Mareeta appear as a player unit at the start of turn&nbsp;2. In Chapter&nbsp;15, Mareeta can talk to an enemy Shannam, granting her the Astra skill. In Chapter&nbsp;24, Mareeta can talk to an enemy Galzus, recruiting him. In Chapter&nbsp;24x, Mareeta can talk to an NPC Eyvel, recruiting her.

Mareeta's actions after Leif's forces merged with Seliph's are unknown, as she does not appear in FE4.

Analysis
Analysis
analysis
analysis
Those experienced with The Binding Blade may be able to compare Shiva and Mareeta to Rutger and Fir, respectively: the former has higher bases and an earlier join time, while the latter has a role in recruiting later units. Unlike those of Fir, however, Mareeta's growths are significantly greater than those of Shiva. She also has a personal brave weapon, which can help her secure kills. Her low bulk will require that she dodge-tanks, but if she can get her hands on the Paragon Sword, she can alleviate this issue while getting quick level-ups and quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with.
Mareeta wields Mareeta's Sword, a personal brave sword with 20 crit that provides Nihil to the wielder. Her FCM of 5 means that she will get 100% crit rates on both of her follow-up attacks when wielding this sword. This makes her the best physical boss killer in the game, though magical attacks are still better for their ability to bypass the +10 defense of gates and thrones. This is most notable against bosses like Eichmann who are too fast to be doubled by magic units, though she will need capped speed and +1&nbsp;con. Luna, Adept, Astra, and her action star will increase her reliability, as the damage increase and extra attacks can compensate for a miss. Nihil is also useful against Baron bosses, as it will disable Pavise.

If, however, one opts instead to use their mainly stronger units, keep in mind that Mareeta will have recruitment conversations and will need to be protected by nearby units.
Unfortunately, she joins with very low HP, defense, and strength, so her combat ability at base level is poor without her personal sword. While she has great growth rates, it will take some time for her stats to catch up. Her defense and HP growth are also not spectacular, which means with her poor bases she will often have durability issues. Mareeta has the misfortune of joining Leif's army at a time when excellent fighting skills are not as valuable as they were before. Most units can kill enemies, and Mareeta's combat is overkill outside of boss fights. Additionally, late-game bosses often use Master Lances or Master Axes, which have high attack power and are brave weapons; they can often 2HKO Mareeta, and even if she can bring them down to 1% hit, she still faces a small, if present, chance of death if the boss gets to attack.

Overall, Mareeta is a growth unit with high combat potential, but she struggles to contribute anything meaningful when she joins.

There are two different variations of Mareeta available to Heroes, both based on her storyline appearance in Thracia 776. The normal variation of Mareeta is one of the characters added to the game in the The Dream update, and became available for summoning by players on December 6, 2019. A Shadow Sword-corrupted variation of Mareeta was added to the game in the A Home Unknown update, and became available for summoning by players on May 10, 2019. Mareeta is one of a very few characters to date who had a special variation made available to players before their normal variation in which the normal variation has actually been added to the game, with other examples being Sigrun, Louise, and Wolt. In particular, Mareeta shares the exact same distinction of having a special Fallen Hero variation as her first appearance in Heroes with Hardin.

No—I'm a swordswoman, a Myrmidon, like my mother before me! I'm the daughter of Eyvel of Fiana! No mere bandit could defeat me!
— Mareeta

Mareeta (Japanese: マリータ Mareeta) is a princess of the fallen Ribaut nobility of Isaach, the daughter of its Prince Galzus and a full-blooded descendant of the Crusader Od.

As a child, she was abducted by slave traders in Connacht and separated from Galzus, and was rescued and adopted by the mercenary Eyvel and lived with her in the Thracian village of Fiana. As a member of Eyvel's Fiana Freeblades, she helped to fight bandit aggression across Thracia's east coast, until she and her friend Nanna were abducted by Raydrik of Munster, sparking the rise of Leif's revolution army.

Biography

When she was a child, as she was away from her father Galzus, Mareeta was abdutced by a slave trader. She was saved by Eyvel, who adopted her and brought her to Fiana.

Around a year later, Leif's forces came back to Munster. Here, she rekognized Galzus as her father, and convinced him to join them in their fight against Raydrik. Then, she reunited with Eyvel, now freed from her petrification.

Fire Emblem: Thracia 776

Role

Mareeta is a playable character. In Chapter 5, Mareeta appears as an enemy unit; she appears in the arena after the eastern corridor has been entered, or Eyvel defeats an enemy in the arena. Due to a mutual support, Mareeta and Eyvel can't counterattack each other. Once Eyvel has been captured, or the door to the arena is opened, Mareeta will leave the map. In Chapter 12, Mareeta appear as a player unit at the start of turn 2. In Chapter 15, Mareeta can talk to an enemy Shannam, granting her the Astra skill. In Chapter 24, Mareeta can talk to an enemy Galzus, recruiting him. In Chapter 24x, Mareeta can talk to an NPC Eyvel, recruiting her.

Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

This is most notable against bosses like Eichmann who are too fast to be doubled by magic units, though she will need capped speed and +1 con. Luna, Adept, Astra, and her action star will increase her reliability, as the damage increase and extra attacks can compensate for a miss. Nihil is also useful against Baron bosses, as it will disable Pavise.

Fire Emblem Awakening

Mareeta is playable as a SpotPass character, released in the Thracia 776 character set. She is also present as an enemy in the first and third installments of the Lost Bloodlines DLC series.

Fire Emblem Heroes

Role

There are three different variations of Mareeta available to Heroes, all based on her storyline appearance in Thracia 776. An ascended variation of Mareeta is one of the characters added to the game in the Evil Ways update and became available for summoning by players on March 18, 2022. Mareeta is one of a very few characters to date who had a special variation made available to players before their normal variation in which the normal variation has actually been added to the game, with other examples being Sigrun, Louise, and Wolt; in particular, Mareeta shares the exact same distinction of having a special Fallen Hero variation as her first appearance in Heroes with Hardin.

Thracia 776

Mareeta, Sword of Stars
Still ashamed of her lack of discipline for having been possessed by the Shadow Sword, Mareeta embarked on a journey to train and better herself—alone. Before long, she grew into a formidable swordswoman, one whose name was known throughout the continent. But no matter how well-known she became, she would always say, "I'm nothing compared to my mother."

Mareeta was separated from her parents when she was very young, but she was taken in by Eyvel, who would become her foster mother. At one point, Mareeta was controlled by the will of a cursed sword, which was given to her as part of a cruel, underhanded scheme targeting Eyvel. Fully under the sword's influence, she attacked her foster mother, who was then struck with a petrification spell while she was still reeling from the shock. Mareeta's birth father arrived soon after to rescue Mareeta and free her from the sword's curse. The sword might have lost its evil powers, but it still had an edge. Mareeta took up the blade once more, and set off with Leif on a journey to find a way to save Eyvel!
