Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
On turn 1, move Kris one space to Gordin/Athena's left, move Caeda two spaces above Luke, move Wrys two spaces above Kris, and move everyone else out of attack range. You'll be hit by two Barbarians, while the Hunters will automatically aggro. On turn 2, you are joined by Merric. There's a lot to love about him - he has 1-2 range, solid Speed, and enough bulk to survive being shot by both Hunters. In addition, his low Defense makes enemies target him more often to deal more damage, even if they would face a counterattack in the process. He has to be deployed in the final map if you want to recruit everyone and he's a very good unit in general, so there's little to lose by giving him a bit of a head start. Have Merric move two steps north and dispose of the Barbarian Kris weakened. Then have Wrys heal Kris from the south. Have Caeda retreat, Ryan weaken the other Barbarian, and Luke finish him off. Finally, move Kris two spaces below Ryan to cover him and move Roderick and Gordin/Athena to safety. If all goes well, one Hunter should attack Ryan and one should attack Wrys, failing to kill either. If all doesn't go well, you can put Gordin/Athena to work to pull you through. Kill both Hunters and use the southern fort to heal up. The other three enemies won't attack until you are in range of at least two of them.
Once you're ready for the next wave, place Kris on the southwestern forest where they are in range of a Barbarian and the Thief, and place Caeda two spaces right and two above the northern fort where she is in range of the other Barbarian. This will aggro the enemies - kill them all. Once they're dead, the map is won. You should have no trouble taking out the boss.
If you say "Yes" to Katarina's question at the end of the chapter, you will proceed to Draug's version of Prologue 6. If you answer "No", you will proceed to Ogma's version. Of the two, Ogma is better due to Draug's poor Speed getting him doubled throughout the final prologue chapters whereas Ogma's great Speed allows him to double.
