Personality and character

This section has been marked as a stub. Please help improve the page by adding information.

Linhardt hates constraints and loves his own freedom. He is generally very lazy, but when researching the crests he gets so excited he forgets to eat or sleep. Despite their differing personalities, he is good friends with Caspar.

Endings

Linhardt, Ragamuffin Sage and Petra, Queen of Brigid (Silver Snow)
Petra returned to her homeland of Brigid, and inherited the throne from her grandfather. As ruler, she declared independence from Fódlan, and renegotiated Brigid's diplomatic relations on more equal terms. Next, she introduced industrial practices that were modeled on those of Fódlan, vastly improving her homeland's economy. This rapid development surprised those abroad, until it was discovered that the improvements came thanks to the counsel of Brigid's husband, Linhardt, who had left Fódlan to offer Brigid his talent and insight. It is said that the couple maintained a healthy and affectionate relationship, and that they raised many happy children together.

Linhardt, Sleepy Crest Scholar & Caspar, Roaming Instigator (Silver Snow and Crimson Flower)
After the war, Linhardt and Caspar abandoned their noble houses to pursue a carefree journey wandering the world. They traveled to every corner of Fódlan, and even ventured abroad now and again. Caspar got into trouble at every turn on their travels, but Linhardt was always there, begrudgingly, to get him out of it. The records of their adventures were immortalized in a book by an anonymous author, entitled "The Thousand Roads and Seven Seas." It is said they did eventually settle down, after the events in those stories, but where they actually went is unknown.

Linhardt, Sleepy Crest Scholar (Verdant Wind)
Linhardt abandoned his inherited position in favor of a carefree life at Garreg Mach Monastery. There he spent his days at ease, willing away the hours at the fishing pond or in his private study. After his passing, a treasure trove of documents was unearthed, revealing the key discoveries he had made during his many years of Crest research.

Quotes

Battle quotes

Ever since returning to the Empire, I knew this day would arrive. I just hoped it might take a bit longer. Ugh...
— Linhardt, as an enemy fighting Byleth in Verdant Wind Chapter 18/Azure Moon Chapter 20.
Caspar: Looks like we ended up on opposing sides, Linhardt!
Linhardt: Certainly seems that way. I could almost weep over how things turned out. Do you realize, Caspar, that this is the first time we've ever fought?
Caspar: Yeah, I think you're right. The first and probably the last!

— Linhardt, fighting Caspar in Verdant Wind Chapter 18/Azure Moon Chapter 20.
I'd rather not fight, yet avoiding it is more frustrating and fruitless than engaging in the battle itself.
— Linhardt, as an enemy in Verdant Wind Chapter 18/Azure Moon Chapter 20.
Linhardt: We'll fight, but your form and mannerisms suggest that you may be...
The Immovable: If you want your wish to be granted, it is better that you fight me in ignorance.

— Linhardt fighting the Immovable in Legend of the Lake.
