Life and Death (Japanese: 死線 Line of Death) is a skill which debuted in Fire Emblem Fates. Associated with the Master of Arms class, Life and Death is a high-risk, high-reward skill in that it allows the user to deal an additional 10 damage with any of their attacks, at the cost of taking an additional 10 damage when on the receiving end of any attack.
In Fates, it is a class skill associated with the Master of Arms class; in Heroes, it is a three-tiered type A passive skill (whose individiual tiers are known as Life and Death 1, Life and Death 2, and Life and Death 3 in order from lowest to highest). Life and Death is a high-risk, high-reward skill in that it allows the user to deal additional damage with any of their attacks, at the cost of taking an additional damage when on the receiving end of any attack; in Fates, the damage figure is 10 going both ways, while in Heroes, the skill boosts Attack and Speed at the cost of Defense and Resistance, and the size of the effect going both ways increases with the skill's tier.
