Líf (Japanese: リーヴ Líf) is the secondary antagonist of Book III of Fire Emblem Heroes. He is an alternate timeline version of Alfonse and a general of the army of the dead.

Líf was the founder and first king of Askr, later dying of unknown causes.

An alternate Askr and Embla banded together to defeat Hel by creating a "forbidden heart," at the cost of the citizens' lives with each pulse. Stricken by grief, that Askr's Alfonse was made into one of Hel's generals shortly after her escape. He took the name "Líf", and assisted Hel in her conquest of the living world.

During the events of Book 3, Líf clashes with the Order of Heroes as they journey through Hel's realm and later on, in an alternate version of Askr. At one point in the alternate Askr, Líf attempts to kill Alfonse, but hesitates when Sharena intervenes and retreats. Using information he learned from the alternate Askr's library, Alfonse deduces that "Líf" is an older version of himself.

As a playable character

There are three different variations of Líf available to Heroes, both of which are tied to his storyline appearance in Heroes. The normal variation of Líf had information as a playable unit added in a dedicated Mythic Hero update, making him the game's eighth Mythic Hero; he was made available for summoning as part of a summoning event released on January 30, 2020. A Valentine's-themed variation of Líf was made available between the period of February 5, 2021 through March 5, 2021 as part of the summoning event surrounding the Love of a King update; this variation is a Duo Hero, teamed up with Thrasir. A rearmed variation of Líf, the game's first Rearmed Hero, had information as a playable unit added the One Last Chance update and was made available for summoning as part of a summoning event released on September 16, 2022.

The armies of Hel surged into Askr, plunging the kingdom into mortal terror. Leading the charge and defying the Order of Heroes was Líf, General of Hel!	Wielding Sökkvabekkr, the sword of ruin, Líf claimed the living for the realm of the dead, his expression never changing. But why would he do such awful things?	He seems to have some connection to Askr. In fact, Líf was also the name of our first king, who founded the kingdom with the god-dragon Askr's blessing…	His face is mostly hidden by his mask, but something about him seems familiar to me. I just wish I could work out what he's really trying to achieve!
