Kotaro (Japanese: コタロウ Kotaro) is a recurring boss character in all three routes of Fire Emblem Fates. Kotaro is the daimyo of Mokushu, famed for its ninja, and schemes to expand his holdings, resulting in his siding with Garon of Nohr.

Personality and character

Kotaro is a cunning and ambitious opportunist, allying himself and the Mokushujin to Nohr so that King Garon can grant them considerable Hoshidan territory. He is not above using underhanded tactics. During Conquest Chapter 17, he took Kagero as a hostage in order to make the Hoshidan army surrender and tricked Corrin and the Nohrian army into a deadly trap under the pretext of his army being depleted fighting the Hoshidans.

Despite his underhanded nature, Kotaro is an extremely skilled fighter, allegedly killing Saizo's father with ease and taking on the whole of Kohga's ninja.
