The Killing Edge (Japanese: キルソード Kill Sword) is a sword-type weapon whose main feature is an enhanced critical rate. Its power and durability may be regular; however, when in the hands of nimble and skilled units, such as myrmidons or swordmasters, it becomes a lethal weapon.
The killing edge made its first appearance in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, and it has been in all subsequent games but Gaiden and its remake, Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, as well as Genealogy of the Holy War.

Other appearances
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
The Killing Edge appears as an item in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. If the holder attacks while the sword is glowing their damage and launch power will increase twofold,[1] emulating the concept of a critical hit, which the Killing Edge is famous for. It is unclear which exact Killing Edge incarnation this appearance is based on, though it is most similar to its Awakening appearance. If the player successfully scores a hit while the sword is glowing the landing a critical hit sound effect from the Game Boy Advance titles can be heard.
