The Iron Axe (Japanese: 鉄の斧 Iron Axe) is one of the most basic axe-type weapon in the Fire Emblem series. Cheap and durable, it has a better accuracy than other axes. However, its main drawback is its weight; in the hands of units with low constitution or low speed, the Iron Axe may leave them too slow and susceptible to be attacked twice per turn.
The Iron Axe made its first appearance in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, replacing the Axe from Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, and it has been in each game since then apart from Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
