Personality and character

While Hestia has no dialogue in the original, she is given dialogue in the remake.

Prior to being sacrificed to Duma, she lived in a priory with her two sisters. She is described as having been smart, mature, and having "marched to her own beat" by Sonya.[2]

In her first encounter, she does not understand why anyone would oppose Duma. However, in her second encounter in Duma's Altar, she regrets not having lived life as she pleased like her sister Sonya.

Quotes

Battle quotes

Hestia does not have any battle quotes in Gaiden.

Why do you refuse Duma's truth? It is incomprehensible...
— Hestia in act 4 of Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
That's no fair, Sonya... Why should you be the only one allowed to live as she chooses?
— Hestia in act 5 of Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.

Death quotes

Hestia does not have any death quotes in Gaiden.

Why...? I've done...nothing wrong...
— Hestia in act 4 of Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
Oh... It seems so...obvious now. I should have just lived...as I pleased... like you...
— Hestia in act 5 of Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.

Other appearances

Fire Emblem Gaiden (manga)

A glimpse of Jedah, Marla, and Hestia provided by Sonya.

In the Gaiden manga Hestia, along with Marla, is deceased. She appears sparingly with Jedah before his corruption by Duma in some of Sonya's flashbacks of the times when they still lived together as a family.

Trivia

Hestia's head sprites. The top row are for unmounted classes, the bottom row are the unused mounted sprites.
  • Hestia and Marla have the exact same stats as each other throughout all their appearances in Gaiden.
    • They also have identical stats in the final act of Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
  • In Gaiden Hestia and Marla share portraits, but one is flipped.
  • The generic class portrait for witches in Fire Emblem Fates may be inspired by Marla's and Hestia's appearances, as the Fates witch has the same hair color—a very dark and high contrast purple—as the two sisters.
  • In Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Hestia and her sister Marla use generic witch models in battle despite having custom map sprites.
  • Despite only appearing as a witch in Shadows of Valentia, Hestia has an unused set of sprites for if she appears in a mounted class; these sprites, however, are edits of Sonya's mounted sprites.
