Heir of Light (Japanese: 光をつぐもの He Who Succeeds the Light) is the sixth chapter of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, and the beginning of its second generation. It chronicles Seliph's emergence from hiding in Tirnanog, his liberation of Isaach from the Grannvale army, and start of his revolution.
Plot
- Main article: Heir of Light/Script
Seventeen years after the Battle of Belhalla, both Oifey and Shanan are currently away from Tirnanog, the remote village in which they raised Seliph, son of the late Sigurd. Danan, the "King of Isaach", has finally learned of Tirnanog's status as the hideout of the growing revolution force against his rule of Isaach, and in light of the absence of Oifey and Shanan orders a strike against the vulnerable village. In response to the news of the impending Dozel army, Seliph chooses to set out with the two remaining fighters in the village - Larcei/Radney and Ulster/Roddlevan - and confront the enemy head-on, bringing with him the priestess Lana/Mana. Shortly into the skirmish, Oifey returns from his scouting mission with his protegés, Delmud/Tristan and Lester/Dimna, and joins the fray.
Seliph's first victory is at Ganeishire Castle, administered by Danan's assistant General Harold, whom he defeats. At Ganeishire, he finds Lewyn, who entrusts to him Julia, his amnesiac ward, while he travels to Leonster. In response to the news of Ganeishire's fall, Danan orders his sons Johan and Johalva to sortie and fight Seliph, though both are reluctant to do so. Meanwhile, near Isaach Castle, Fee/Femina and Arthur/Amid arrive from Silesse and join Seliph's army. One of Danan's sons is convinced by Larcei/Radney to ally with Seliph, while the other is defeated in battle by Seliph's army; Seliph captures the slain brother's held castle, where he finds a light tome to give to Julia.
Their final destination is Rivough Castle, held by Danan himself. Following their defeat of Danan's subordinate Schmidt, Seliph's army challenges and kills Danan himself, who without his Helswath is easier to fight. Upon taking Rivough Castle, Lewyn returns and tells him of the struggling revolutionary war in Leonster led by Seliph's cousin, Leif, and encourages him to lead his new liberation across Jugdral to free it from the tyranny of his half-brother, Prince Julius of Grannvale.
