You two wagered everything on a dim hope. You sacrificed yourselves, railing against fate with all your might. That is true strength. I respect it. I value it.

Trivia
- This xenologue was revealed via a reveal trailer; however, the reveal trailer in question stated the chapter to be a paralogue as opposed to a xenologue[1] (which would have been paralogue 40 had it been accurate). This repeats the circumstances of the previous xenologue, which was also implied by a reveal trailer to be a paralogue.
- As a result of this xenologue being the central focus of an update and the previously-existing character Loki being the only non-generic enemy in it, the update's corresponding New Heroes summoning event is the first New Heroes update in the history of the game to not have any of the characters introduced to the game through that update (Larum, Perceval, Echidna, Igrene, Chad, and Brunnya) featured in a narrative chapter.
- The single part of this chapter is the first part of a narrative chapter to reuse a previously existing map, in this case the one from part 5 of chapter 12 of Book III; as such, it is implied that this chapter takes place in the same location as the original location of that map.
