The Guardian (Japanese: ガーディアン Guardian, or しゅごしん Guardian God) is a class that has never made an official appearance in the Fire Emblem series. While data for the Guardian class is present in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, it is never used, and the class is not present in any form in any other installment. Its appearance is taken from that of a General, with gray armor. The Guardian's map sprite depicts the class carrying a lance, despite the fact that the Guardian is not known to be able to wield weapons of any type.

Trivia

  • The Guardian is unusual in that it actually has two completely different name strings from each other between the status and battle screens. Some other classes with long names take advantage of this to abbreviate them for the battle screen, but the Guardian's two names do not resemble each other at all.
  • The term Guardian God is a title given to Naga and Salamander, rulers of the divine and fire dragon tribes respectively.
