Xane tells Marth the story of the manaketes as they arrive at the Flame Barrel, the graveyard of the Fire Dragons. Those dragons have become wild beasts and must be fought for Marth's army to progress. Eventually, Marth is able to fight through those dragons, and Xane informs him about the Binding Shield and the Falchion, about Gotoh and the degeneration of dragons, about the wars dragons fought against humans, and about himself being a manakete.

Although mounted units start dismounted, they are able to re-mount on the bridge and the forts. Be sure to bring along a few Blizzard tomes to deal heavy damage to the Fire Dragons.
