The Grandmaster (Japanese: 神軍師 Grandmaster) is an advanced class debuting in Fire Emblem Awakening. It is the promoted class of the Tactician, primarily used by the game's avatar character, and shares its status as a wielder of both magic and swords. As with the Tactician, the Grandmaster in and of itself has balanced stats across the board, possessing the same maximum possible value in all stats except HP and luck, though in practice the individual asset/flaw stat modifiers of any individual avatar will ensure its stats vary considerably.

Trivia

  • Of the four bonus amiibo classes in Fates, the Grandmaster has the fewest completely new skills among them, with only Tactical Advice not having appeared in Awakening.
    • The Grandmaster is, however, the only one of the four bonus amiibo classes who does not have at least one skill that overlaps with another bonus amiibo class.

Grandmaster

In modern parlance, "grandmaster" is a title bestowed upon chess players of high proficiency. As Fire Emblem is a strategy game loosely resembling chess, this was the likely intention of the name.
