Galle (pronounced /ɡɑl/[key][2]; Japanese: ゲイル Galle) is one of Murdock's subordinates and a major enemy of Chapter 21 of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. Despite being a talented knight, his deserved promotion to Wyvern General was delayed due to his foreign birth; regardless, Murdock and Zephiel treat Galle as a powerful and trustworthy ally.

Role

Galle can be unlocked for usage on the trial maps should the player beat the game from beginning to end twice.
Galle captains a group of late-stage reinforcements during Chapter 21, appearing once one of the player's units ends their turn near the Shrine of Seals. Galle specifically targets Roy, apparently intent on picking off the lord. During this appearance he has optional talk conversations with Melady and Zeiss. Though neither conversation sways Galle to join Roy, he and his wyvern riders will swarm around Melady without attacking her if she talks to him, instead of targeting Roy.

Trivia
- Galle is the only unrecruitable enemy to have an affinity in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade.
- Curiously, Galle's character data is located in the middle of the playable story cast, between Zeiss and Elffin, instead of among trial map-exclusive characters or enemies.
- Galle's growth rates go unused in The Binding Blade due to units not being able to gain experience in Trial Maps.

Galle |
Potentially from the Roman surname Gallus, from gallus "rooster" or referring to someone from the region of Gaul.[4] |
English (unofficial) |
Gale |
Popularized by Serenes Forest. Derived from the Middle English gaile "jovial"; considered masculine prior to 1935, but came to be considered a feminine name and a shortening of "Abigail" by 1940.[citation needed] May have been used by fan translations to attempt to avert confusion with Gair, a major backstory character from Genealogy of the Holy War, whose Japanese name was also rendered in English as "Galle". |
