Fortress Defense/Resistance (Japanese: 守備魔防の城塞 Defense/Resistance Fortress) is a three-tiered passive type A skill which debuted in Fire Emblem Heroes; the individual tiers of the skill are known as Fort. Def/Res 1, Fort. Def/Res 2, and Fort. Def/Res 3 in order from lowest to highest. Units with a Fort. Def/Res skill gain a large boost to their Defense and Resistance stats, at the cost of a drop to their Attack stat; the size of the Defense and Resistance boosts increases, and the Attack drop decreases, with the skill's tier.

Trivia
- When this skill was added to the game in the Brave Redux update, it was added alongside an incorrect hierarchy of icons. An icon not intended to exist (as seen to the right) was associated with the first tier, the icons intended for the first and second tiers were associated with the second and third tiers respectively, and the intended icon for the third tier (with the edge styling of Death Blow 4) was not added to the game as intended. These icons were corrected for the Legendary Hero Eirika: Graceful Resolve update.
- The character reveal trailer for the Brave Redux update shows the original tier 3 icon alongside its listing for Fort. Def/Res 3 in Kliff's listing[1].
