Fjalar (Japanese: ファラ Fala), dubbed the "Mage Fighter", was a member of the Twelve Crusaders, the original wielder and namesake of Valflame and the founder of Grannvale's House Velthomer.
Biography
As with the other Crusaders, Fjalar was a warrior fighting in a revolution against the tyranny of the Lopt Empire, and was one of the survivors barricaded in Darna Fortress when the tide turned against their movement. It was at this fortress that the Miracle of Darna occurred, changing the tide of the war: Fjalar was chosen by Salamand of the twelve dragon gods who descended upon the fortress, and with Salamand underwent a blood-bond, which transformed her into one of the Crusaders. Salamand then bestowed upon Fjalar his power, in the form of the Valflame tome, sealed to Fjalar's new holy bloodline, to wield in the war.
With the other Crusaders, Fjalar fought in the rest of the Holy War and contributed to the downfall of the Lopt Empire. At the war's conclusion, Fjalar and five other Crusaders founded the six duchies of Grannvale, the kingdom founded by their leader Saint Heim, with Fjalar founding Velthomer.

Trivia
