The Editor-in-Chief is a position in the wiki of a lot of responsibility. They are an elected representative and authoritative leader of the wiki who helps settles disputes without interrupting a the natural process of gathering consensus, but also intervenes when any editors become disruptive editors whom aim to be malicious in their edits.

  • They help lead the staff in encouraging good edits, welcoming new members, set up projects or collaborations, or anything else that seems to be good for the wiki.
  • They help the staff in contacting other websites in hopes for affiliation, or possible membership.
  • They may delegate their responsibilities to any staff member, or in some cases, any user, they feel can perform the job well.
  • They can recommend users to be promoted to admins, and have users promoted to _________ who would be candidatures for future staff. (I still have to implement a separate group that will be editors between admin and user).

A user can stay Editor-in-Chief as long as she or he chooses, or as long as they have staff support. At the time of his or her departure, he or she may run an election to see whom is the next Editor-in-Chief. He or she may nominate one person, and counts as one vote. However, they can't close the election until at least one week has past, and a simple majority has been reached (even if their candidate doesn't win).
