The Fire Emblem Theme, from Path of Radiance.

The Fire Emblem Theme is a musical track which acts as the main anthem for the entire Fire Emblem series. It was originally composed for Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light by either Yuka Tsujiyoko or Hirokazu Tanaka, and its use as that game's title screen theme has continued as a tradition by the majority of Fire Emblem games since. In many games, several other tracks also incorporate fragments of the theme.

List of uses in games

Fire Emblem series

  • Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light
    • Opening Title - Demo: The game's main theme, played on the title screen and class role, is the original version of the Fire Emblem theme.
    • Story 6 - Marth and Caeda's Conversation: This low-key rendition of the Theme plays over the final cutscene after clearing the Endgame.
    • Ending (Parade): This slow version of the Theme plays over the character endings after the credits roll.
  • Fire Emblem Gaiden
    • Ending 1: A slow, dramatic reprise of the Fire Emblem Theme opens this medley, which plays over the epilogue narration and staff credits.
  • Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
    • Opening Theme - Mystery of the Emblem: This brief track plays a slow, low-key arrangement of the melody that concludes the game's version of the Fire Emblem Theme. It plays on the initial start-up screen when Nintendo's logo and the Fire Emblem are displayed.
    • Main Theme - Fire Emblem: The game's main theme, played over the title screen and class roll. Unlike earlier or later versions, it does not indefinitely loop and eventually comes to a finale.
  • Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War
    • Fire Emblem Theme: The game's main theme, played over the title screen and demo mode/credits. Its melody differs slightly in parts from the theme's prior versions.
  • Fire Emblem: Archanea Saga
    • In the original broadcasts, an orchestral arrangement of the Fire Emblem Theme played on the Satellaview download screen and title screen of each episode, streamed live by radio like most of the game's audio.[1]
  • Fire Emblem: Thracia 776
    • Fire Emblem Theme: The game's main theme, played over the title screen and demo mode/credits. Compared to Genealogy, Thracia's version of the theme is more traditional and in-line with its original melody.
    • Ending ~ Ballad: This track opens with several bars from the Fire Emblem Theme.
  • Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
    • Fire Emblem Theme: The game's main theme, played over the title screen and demo mode/class roll.
    • Main Theme Motif: A triumphant version of the Fire Emblem Theme which plays in the first closing cutscene of the game's true ending, as Roy emerges from the Dragon Sanctuary.
  • Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade
    • Fire Emblem Theme: The game's main theme, played over the title screen and class roll.
    • Main Theme Arrangement: Nearly identical to the Main Theme Motif from The Binding Blade, that plays in the closing cutscenes of each campaign, usually when Lyn, Eliwood or Hector is farewelling the tactician.
  • Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
    • Main Theme: The game's main theme, played over the title screen and class roll. Uniquely, it incorporates the same ending melody used by the Mystery of the Emblem version.
    • Main Theme (Reprise): A triumphant version of the Fire Emblem Theme, which plays in the final cutscene of the epilogue as Eirika and Ephraim part with their allies.
    • Ray of Hope: A remixed variant of the theme used during the Creature Campaign as the overworld map music.
  • Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
    • Fire Emblem Theme: A frenetic, brass-heavy full version of the theme. Unlike other games, it plays only over the turn count and kill count displays after the credits and is not present on the title screen.
  • Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
    • Fire Emblem Theme: A dramatic, orchestral version of the theme, played over the title screen and class roll.
  • Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
    • Fire Emblem Theme: An orchestral version of the Fire Emblem Theme, adapted from the Mystery of the Emblem version, played over the title screen and class roll.
    • Pieces of Hope: A calm, strings-heavy version which plays over the first scene of the game's epilogue.
  • Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem
    • Fire Emblem Theme: Ported directly from Shadow Dragon. Again played over the title screen and class roll.
    • Epilogue: A slow, denouement version of the Fire Emblem Theme which plays in the first cutscenes of each of the game's two endings.
    • Here After...: A brief, slow and strings-heavy arrangement of the Fire Emblem Theme, which plays on the final "Fin" screen in the game's true ending.
  • Fire Emblem Awakening
    • An unnamed fanfare version of the Fire Emblem Theme is used as the title theme of Awakening. It is much shorter than most versions of the theme, lasting only thirty seconds. This same song is also used, in slightly extended form, as the music accompanying the opening movie.
    • Conquest and Conquest (Ablaze): A brief snippet of the Fire Emblem Theme is played toward the end of both versions of the song.
    • Id (Purpose): An ominous lyrical version of part of the Fire Emblem Theme is used as the end of this song.
    • The DLC episodes Harvest Scramble, Summer Scramble and Hot Springs Scramble each use a novelty version of the Fire Emblem Theme as their battle music. Harvest Scramble has its own version, while Summer Scramble and Hot Springs Scramble share slightly different takes of the same version, interspersed with voice samples from Chrom and Lucina respectively.
  • Fire Emblem Fates
  • Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
    • Fire Emblem Theme: An orchestral version of the theme with accompanying lyrics. Unlike most versions of the theme, this track does not loop. Used during the Class Roll.
    • The Course of Gods and Men: A slow tempo, violin rendition of the theme opens this track.
  • Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE
    • The Fire Emblem Theme is played by an orchestra in the opening cutscene and plays when Performa manifests at the end of Side Stories.
  • Fire Emblem Heroes
    • A redone version of the Brawl Fire Emblem theme with different lyrics is played on the title and download screens. It is in Japanese when the game is set to Japanese and English when set to anything else.
    • When an S Support is achieved between two characters, an organ arrangement of the Fire Emblem Theme plays, slightly truncated. Unless the player achieves more than one S Support at the same time, the song will not finish.
    • "Opening Title - Demo" from Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light is used as the player phase theme for the Special Training Maps.
