Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Fiona is the only cavalier on Micaiah's team through part 1 and on. She joins with extremely low base stats all around. She struggles to deal damage, hit reliably, dodge, double, or take any hits. To contribute to combat, she needs significant babying and BEXP. She has a low base lance rank of C, limiting her lance usage; she also does not have the skill capacity to equip Discipline to help. She typically has high mobility and canto, giving her rescue utility, which is further complemented by innate Savior. However, most of her available part 1 and 3 chapters hinder her mounted mobility. 1-7 and 1-E are indoors and have ledges, 3-6 is a swamp, and 3-13 has ledges.

Fiona has high growths in speed, luck, defense, and resistance, and acceptable growths in strength and skill. Due to her extremely low bases for her base level, her growths in avoid and bulk will not shine until well into tier 2, and even then, her low health growth limits her bulk. She offensively will not be able to contribute well without extreme reliance on forges and babying. In general, she can only properly contribute if she is babied via boss abusing or Naliah's glare in 1-E.

In tier 2, she will on average cap speed, defense, and resistance quickly, so BEXP can be used to help her weaker health, strength, and skill. She only reaches this point around late part 3 or early part 4, where by then, she will still be underleveled as most units will be promoted to tier 3 by then. In part 4, she performs best on Ike's team as she is limited by the desert and swamp chapter on Micaiah's and Tibarn's team, respectively. Even still, there are forest tiles and indoor ledges on Ike's team hat limit her mount. She can use 1-2 range lances and face extensive enemy phases to help contribute in rout chapters due to her good long-term bulk. For endgame, she has respectable stat caps to double many units and take both physical and magical hits, and is capable of using the Wishblade if desired. While Fiona can be a solid endgame candidate, she ultimately requires an immense amount of babying to get her to a usable point for part 4 and offers nothing unique to endgame.

Fiona has innate Savior which can be helpful but, due to her limited mobility on her available chapters, is best put on other units like Jill or Volug or given to Ike's team. If Savior is kept on her, she can help with rescuing ally units in part 3 to open options for other units. Innate Imbue lets her recover 6hp per turn at base, letting her tank better in the long run. The cavalier class cannot equip any useful skills in tier 1, limiting her options until promotion.

Fiona has an earth affinity which gives a pure avoid boost. As this helps her durability further, this is extremely valuable. Pairing her with any other earth affinity units like Nolan, Zihark, or Volug can give up to a +45 avoid boost to both partners. Units with a dark or thunder affinity also complement her avoid boost while giving a needed attack or defense boost, because Fiona is generally lacking in all of her stats.

Personality and character

Fiona is young but mature and level-headed, making wise choices to protect her people no matter the cost. She is a true warrior at heart who believes in Micaiah's cause and takes pride in fighting as a knight of Daein. As an honorable knight, she opposes cruelty towards civilians.
