The Fenrir (Japanese: フェンリル Fenrir or ノスフェラート Nosferat) tome is a powerful dark spell in the FES. It originated in FE4 as a long-range tome, counterparted to Meteor, Bolting, and Blizzard. Upon appearing in Elibe, Fenrir instead became a standard-range spell of relatively high-rank, counterparted to Fimbulvetr and Aura. Its most recent appearance, FE10, has seen Fenrir return to its long-range origins, counterparted with the same spells as in Jugdral as well as with Purge.
Fenrir (Japanese: フェンリル Fenrir or ノスフェラート Nosferat) tome is a powerful dark spell in the FES. It has served in two different roles in the series.

Fenrir appeared in every game between Genealogy of the Holy War and The Sacred Stones, with an additional appearance in Radiant Dawn.
The first version of Fenrir is a long-range tome, and it appears in this role in FE4, Thracia 776, and Radiant Dawn. It is the dark magic counterpart of Meteor, Bolting, Blizzard, and, in Radiant Dawn, Purge.

The second version of Fenrir appears in FE6, The Blazing Blade, and The Sacred Stones, in which it is instead a standard-range spell of high weapon level, counterparted to Fimbulvetr and Aura. It also serves this role in Heroes, where it is a red tome that acts as the dark magic equivalent to Bolganone, Thoron, Rexcalibur, Shine, and Atlas.

Long-distance dark magic. Few spellcasters can master the intricacies of these fell arts.

Type

Dark

First game

Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War

Fenrir (Japanese: フェンリル Fenrir or ノスフェラート Nosferat) tome is a powerful dark spell in the Fire Emblem series. It has served in two different roles in the series.

The first version of Fenrir is a long-range tome, and it appears in this role in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, Thracia 776, and Radiant Dawn. It is the dark magic counterpart of Meteor, Bolting, Blizzard, and, in Radiant Dawn, Purge.

The second version of Fenrir appears in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, The Blazing Blade, and The Sacred Stones, in which it is instead a standard-range spell of high weapon level, counterparted to Fimbulvetr and Aura. It also serves this role in Heroes, where it is a red tome that acts as the dark magic equivalent to Bolganone, Thoron, Rexcalibur, Shine, and Atlas.

Fenrir

From Fenrir, a monstrous wolf in Norse mythology. For the GBA games, it was likely referred to as Fenrir in the localization because internal data calls the tome "Fenrir" instead of the tome's actual Japanese name of "Nosferat".

Japanese

フェンリル
ノスフェラート

• Fenrir, as above. This name is used in the Jugdral games and Radiant Dawn, which use the long-range version of the tome.
• Nosferat; from Nosferatu, another word for vampire of alleged Romanian origin, popularized by the novel Dracula and the film Nosferatu. This name is used in the GBA games and Heroes, which use the 1–2 range version of the tome.
