Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Felgus is one of the strongest units available in Thracia 776.
His strength primarily revolves around one stat in particular - PCC of 5. Felgus's high PCC means that he will be a damaging behemoth who is almost always guaranteed to crit his opponent when he double attacks - especially if he is wielding a killing edge. Additionally, free knights and rangers have some of the lowest dismounting penalties in the game due to their restriction to swords, which will allow Felgus to retain his strengths regardless of whether or not he is fighting indoors. Towards the end of the game the player may acquire the Beo Sword - a powerful personal weapon which can only be wielded by either Felgus or Delmud and grants its wielder Vantage and Wrath with up to 60 uses. If you wish to make him even more powerful, you can even give Felgus the Sol manual that you may have acquired in chapter 17A in order to further increase his potency.
Despite Felgus's obvious prowess, he does carry some minor weaknesses. Felgus may have trouble double attacking enemies with a low speed growth of 35% - having him constantly wield the Ced Scroll is recommended purely for this reason. He is also very susceptible to enemy magic users due to a severely lacking magic stat - with both 0 at base compounded by a 10% growth rate. Felgus may still be able to survive longer than most units against magic due to his high HP stat but you should not expect him to survive more than two shots from siege tome users. Another flaw Felgus has would be that he needs to rely on magic swords in order to attack at range but, because the magic stat functions both defensively and offensively in Thracia 776, Felgus will do very little damage when doing so. Overall, Felgus's flaws are redeemable when compared to his strengths but players should be aware of them when fielding him.
Felgus will be an incredible asset to your army who can remain relevant at all stages of the game.
