The Fear Shrine (Japanese: 恐山のほこら Fear Mountain Shrine) is a temple and dungeon located in Rigel's Fear Mountain range. It appears in Fire Emblem Gaiden and is first accessed during Chapter 4: Dismal Nation.

History

As with Gaiden in general, there is little explicit clarification on the exact purpose of the Fear Shrine. It is possibly related to the worship of Duma in some way, as it is crawling with shamans, sorcerers, witches, and monsters. However, the presence of two Mila Shrine within the temple may imply otherwise.

Gameplay

This dungeon can only be accessed with Alm's party. There are several items to be found in its depths as well as a fair amount of battles. This dungeon is optional but highly recommended for experience from its repeatable skirmishes and the fair amount of equipment within.

Map

Fear shrine is a fairly large dungeon by Gaiden's standards, and is a total of four floors.
