Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Farina only appears in Hector's Tale and is the last of the three pegasus sisters recruitable during the game. She is the only character that needs to be paid a rather large amount of gold (20,000G) in order to join you, which is problematic during ranked runs, since her recruitment might significantly reduce your funds rank. Otherwise, money shouldn't be a problem around her jointime, and since your gold cannot fight or fly, you shouldn't be afraid to replace it with another flier who can actually contribute to your success in combat.
Aside her utility as another flier, Farina comes with pretty decent strength, defense and resistance bases for a Pegasus Knight, though her HP-stat starts of rather low and her base speed is not very impressive for her jointime, especially since she get's weighed down by most lances. Since she already has A-rank lances, she can most likely still keep up with your trained mounted units when it comes to damage output by using advanced weaponry, and her base level of 12 allows her to promote into a Falcon Knight as soon as you want, further increasing her strength and durability and giving her access to swords as an accurate and light attack option when facing axe users or attacking mages.
While the growth rates of a unit that joins as late as Farina might not be too interesting, Farina possesses great growths in HP and strength, and her other growth rates aren't bad either, though her speed growth can be a bit shaky considering her bases and low constitution. In order to make use of her growth rates to further increase her combat performance, it is possible to let her defeat a majority of the Monk reinforcements during her joining chapter; later on she can gather some more experience by killing enemy fliers and mages. Combined with her possiblity to improve quickly by promoting, this allows her to become competitive to your trained mounted units within a short amount of time if you want to.
Usually, two or three fliers are sufficient to beat most late maps without trouble, but chapters like Night of Farewells, Cog of Destiny or Victory or Death are yet to come, and flying mounted movement as well as access to high rank lances and decent durability are giving Farina an innate advantage over most other units you could possibly deploy during these chapters.
Once Farina is recruited, your Pegasus Knights can initiate the Triangle Attack, which is usually not very handy against generic enemies, but a powerful addittional attack option against bosses.
To sum it up, Farina joins with pretty good bases and growth rates for a Pegasus Knight, additionally benefitting from having an amazing lance rank, flying movement and the possibilty to instantly promote, with her rather bad availability and high recruitment costs remaining as her major issues.
