“ | My sisters say that being the youngest, I’m good at adapting to situations, but being adaptable doesn’t mean much when your luck is as terrible as mine! They think I’ve had it pretty easy, but it’s actually been tough for me. I have to admit, sometimes I wish they could understand that a bit more… | ” | — Est |

Est (Japanese: エスト Est) is a Pegasus Knight in the service of the Macedon Whitewings squadron, under the command of Princess Minerva. She is the youngest of the three Whitewings sisters, the younger sister of Palla and Catria. After the War of Shadows, she married Abel of the Altean knights.
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light
Role
While her sisters departed the Macedon army to join Minerva in Marth's forces, Est instead departed for Grust upon hearing of their possession of the Mercurius, successfully retrieving it. She encountered and joined Marth's army as they passed through Chiasmir.

Fire Emblem Gaiden
Role
Est was captured by the pirate Grieth and taken to the continent Valentia, imprisoned inside his fort in Zofia's eastern desert. Palla and Catria pursued Grieth's ship but lost track of him around the Zofia port, soon joining Celica's army in hopes of finding Est along the way. During her imprisonment, Jesse made a failed attempt to invade the fort and release her, but was himself captured and imprisoned. Eventually Celica's forces reached Grieth's fort and conquered it, releasing Est, whereupon she joined the army. After the defeat of Duma, she and her sisters travelled back to Archanea.

Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
Book 1
Role
As in Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, while her sisters departed the Macedon army to join Minerva in Marth's forces, Est instead departed for Grust upon hearing of their possession of the Mercurius, successfully retrieving it. In this game, because the Chiasmir map was cut, she appears in a village in Camus the Sable instead.

If the character's value for one of those two stats is higher than their promoted class's base value, they will not receive any bonus in that stat.
Book 2
Role
In the years since the War of Shadows, Est had married Abel of the Altean knights, and the two had retired to start a small shop together. However, at the onset of the War of Heroes, Est was captured and imprisoned during Archanea's onslaught on Altea. The Archanean army used her as a hostage, to force Abel to come out of retirement and fight for them in their occupation of the Altean palace. When Marth and his group returned to Altea, they released Est and she joined their forces, and she soon convinced Abel to stand down and rejoin Marth.

Analysis

Est is a pegasus knight that joins in chapter 18, as the representative of the Est archetype, she comes with horrible bases for her late jointime, but with great growths in most ares for Shadow Dragon standards. Due to the high number of cavalry units in her joining map, along with her coming with a ridersbane Est may seem to be easy to train up at first. However on harder difficulties the enemies will be far to bulky for Est to one shot with just a ridersbane and as such will be need a forged one to one shot the effectively. Ignoring just how much of an investment of money, time and patience it is just to get her to level 10 to promote her, it's also worth noting how despite her good growths Est brings little in return. Due to the fairly low caps of most classes in Shadow Dragon Est, if trained up, will cap her strength, speed, luck and skill fairly quickly, but because of the high enemy quality on harder difficulties Est won't usually be able to survive more than 2 or 3 rounds of combat. Along with having access to better flyers such as Caeda or Minerva and being able to reclass other units to flyers as well there's little reason to use Est overall.
Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem

As in Mystery of the Emblem, in the years since the War of Shadows, Est had married Abel of the Altean knights, and the two had retired to start a small shop together. Analysis

Est outdoes her preformance in Shadow Dragon by being even worse in it's sequel. She's the boss of paralogue 7 if the player has chosen no for the dialogue option in the previous chapter and is recruited at the start of paralogue 8. She has acceptable bases for her jointime, however because of his higher movement and better bulk Cain is often prefered over Est. Still Est isn't a particularly bad unit for the paralogue and might even get a level or 2. Why is this important? Well because she doesn't join the player again until chapter 15 at which point she gets one rounded by every enemy in her joining map. Even if she somehow got 2 perfect level ups in the prologue, her bases will still be horrible and will be nearely unworkable if the player chooses Cain over her. Some might argue that because of her very high growth rates that Est is a good unit, even if we took that argument as the truth, because almost every unit in New Mystery has good growths Est barely stands out among the cast. If the player has the paitence and will, Est may very well end up as your strongest unit, however the work necessary in order to make her viable isn't worth the returns Est gives. By far her greatest contribution is leaving Abel at the end of the game.

Est is available as a playable bonus character, as part of the Death's Embrace DLC package.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
Role
As in Fire Emblem Gaiden, Est is kidnapped by Grieth after retiring from the Whitewings of Macedon. Grieth takes Est to Valentia and imprisons her in his citadel located in the eastern desert of Zofia. Eventually, Celica's forces arrive at Grieth's citadel and conquer it, liberating Est and reuniting her with her sisters, Palla and Catria. After thanking Celica for rescuing her, Est joins Celica's army. Once Alm and Celica's armies defeat Duma, Est returns with her sisters to Archanea.

Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Est once again joins fairly late with bad bases, but good growths in most areas to somewhat compensate. Luckily, unlike in most games she's in, Echoes allows grinding so she can be trained up to be on par with your other units. However, almost any character can be made good through grinding and the fact that Est needs favoritism, specifically nine levels worth, in order to become a usable unit says a lot by itself. Another thing going against her is that Falcon Knights no longer deal effective damage against terrors and have Banish instead, which raises damage output against terrors by ten, a significant downgrade from the original. Another weakness that Est has to deal with is the fact that the vast majority of the cast has significantly boosted growths, meaning that Est's growths stand out significantly less compared to her allies. Even Palla and Catria have similar growths, and with them being recruited earlier and likely having reached promotion level or nearly reached promotion level, there is little reason to deploy Est to engage the enemy. Despite her many shortcomings, Est still has some utility in being able to give her sisters support bonuses to their crit rates. Overall, if the player takes their time and trains up Est she will become a frontliner on par with her sisters and be a great help on the many swamp maps in Celica's Act IV; however on faster playthroughs her greatest contribution will be giving support bonuses to her sisters.
Fire Emblem Heroes
Role
There are two different variations of Est available to Heroes, both of which are tied to her storyline appearance in Mystery of the Emblem. The normal variation of Est is one of the characters available to be summoned by players from the game's initial launch. A spring variation of Est was made available between the period of March 18, 2020 through April 18, 2020 as part of the summoning event surrounding the Familial Festivities update.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Est appears alongside Palla and Catria as a Grab-type spirit, using their art from Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. When equipped to an AI character, the Pegasus Sisters grant an additional mid-air jump. When equipped to a player character, they grant three support spirit slots and increased jump height.
Trivia
- Est is one of two characters to be playable in all seven Archanea/Valentia Fire Emblem titles, if one counts the four BS Fire Emblem chapters as one game; the other is Catria. In terms of merely appearing in said games, she is one of four characters, adding Camus and Palla to this status.

Possibly derived from the Persian ستاره, "star", or the Hebrew עשתר, Ishtar, a Babylonian/Assyrian mother goddess[1][2]. Its use here may have been intended to give Est a "real" name. Esther is the titular Jewish queen of Persia in the biblical book of Esther. |
